ok ill have to try some tubes i guess. Its hard for me to get tubes and parts here since I live in canada lol. My cab is a marshal 1987 with 75watt greenbacks. Did you get a chance to listen to the clips i posted. I find the amp has a very strong bass sound, its overwhelming its like a vibrating bass sound its hard to explain. it sounds very muddy.

Hey guys Ive had my amp for about a year now. Ive done some mods to the amp a few months ago then I had to put my amp away because I was doing renovations on my house. Now im getting back into the band scene and need my amp at top notch. Right now I find my amp has a bassy sound and my clean channel is very similar. I friend of mine helped me develop the schematic I used in my amp and it is built as shown. I will upload some sound clips in a bit to show you guys also. Im not sure if its just a tubes thing or if there are some changes I can make. Im using the JJ tubes for preamps and Tung Sol power tubes. I play mostly rock and would like to have a good sound for that. I play alot of covers so I need a good clean sound. My favorite tone guy is definitely slash, Id love to achieve his sound. Anyways I think im rambling, here is the schematic any advice is appreciated.
Thanks, Kevin

Website, Store / General / Re: using reverb? infront or loop

I haven't tried it, but I have heard of people using pedals like chorus, delay and reverb through the loop so it doesn't run through the tone stack of the amp. But then other people disagree I would say its a matter of taste. Personally I would have to believe it sounds better in the loop.

Hey guys I was working on a custom modded layout and I wanted to be able to draw it up so it looks nice like how the ones on ceriatone are. I talked to Nik and he told me they use autocad and illustrator. Anyone know a little more specific what is used for what and of any tutorials. I have some autocad experience.

British Style / JCM 800 2203, 2204, 2550, 2555 / 2nd channel on 2203?

Hey guys now the I got my 2203 setup and running its amazing. I was lookin online and seen someguy who modded is 2203 to have two channels. He turned his low input into a 2nd channel with its own master volume and preamp volume. Ran a cable out of each channel and used an A/B switch to channel swap. Is something like this difficult to do? It would be nice to have 2 channels. If possible it would be awesome to have channel thats clean. But a channel with just a 2nd set of volume knobs would do I can get pretty clean rolling the guitar knobs back, but I need a little more boost in it.

Nice, after playing for a bit I noticed just by setting my front pickup volume i can go from a cleaner sound to a nice heavy distortion with a pickup switch. How could I go from the really clean tone to a heavy distortion during a song with this amp?

So all I need now is a set of power tubes. Any recommendations I noticed theres a tone of different types. I think i got the JJ EL34s in it now. I play stuff from Clean chili peppers to metallica, Im looking for mostly that heavy sound. I noticed they have selection of early and late distortion n stuff. Just looking for some advice on tubes I know little.
