I am interested in building a single El34 stray cat for recording. I have an appropriate power transformer but wanted suggestions for choke and output transformer. I read a 36H choke and a 4K output for two EL34's. So I am figuring 8K output transformer for a single EL34. Could I use a 30H choke?

Ok build went great and its up and running. However, the Master is very loud when pushed "IN" and quiet when pulled "OUT". What is the circuit change with the push-pull and is this drastic change in volume normal?
