Hard to find info on the klein-ulator. Could you point me to where you bought one?
Tnx!
Steven

Man, that's just not true...  Wink

or even better

You see,... just need to know where to look.

Yes, let us know what was it.
From such things we all can learn something.

What happens when you take that resister and cap out of the loop. I am like you mcinku, I had some electronics training but I have to start over, it's all good though, I enjoy everything about music including this.

As far as I know that resistor and cap will do nothing if that jumper wire is there. It is the same as you would have a patch cable plugged in the loop.

So is the current layout incorrect? I'd like to know before i get to that stage.

Thanks

Hywel Harris

Correct is a relative term...
...if you are after #124 than it's wrong, if you're after D'Lite style amp or many other D style amps I've seen than it's OK, except lose that resistor and cap, it's not needed.

the rest of the layout is fine
875  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: I lost my clean channel somehow ... on: April 15, 2008, 07:08:42 PM
...maybe you can swap relays and see if that works
 Huh?

mcinku
What exactly does that jumper wire do. I am trying to learn all I can but I really feel ignorant sometimes. The other thing is how much change is there from #124, which is 100 watts. And  how do I optimize this amp to run el34's..man I have a long way to go in understanding all of this.
How is it going for you. Smiley

About the jumper wire some info here...
http://ceriatoneforum.com/index.php?topic=207.0
...basically it takes out that loop network (resistor and cap), so why put those in, if the jumper wire is there
Huh?

I'm learning as well. Most of the stuff about ODS style amps, I learned at Amp Garage forum. Those guys there are quite intimidating, so some electrical knowledge is almost a must. I at least have some... but a lot is lost since high school.

Nice review. Great playing

I wish you had posted some clips with a guitar with single coils though.
How clean is the clean channel? There';s some break up in your tone there. I realise that's what you want but for me it's importanmt that the clean channel remains clean at "high" volume.

As you can see his master volume is at 10, that's why his clean tone is breaking up.
878  Ceriatone / Overtone / New Overtone layout !! on: April 15, 2008, 08:14:15 AM
As far as I can see Nik has changed the OD level pot to 100K and pre OD resistor from 150K to 220K. Exactly what I'm planing to do with mine OT  Wink.
That jumper wire on the loop is still there.  Huh?

Everything else looks the same as far as I can tell.
 Cool

This sounds like a bad relay coil to me .... or maybe there is no power to the relay...
Does your PAB switch work?
If not, it could be that your 7812 went bad or even something with the relay power circuit.
 Huh?

A good tech should have this fixed in a few minutes.

Can you hear a relay click when you switch the amp off?

1. Power the amp
2. Select Clean ch
3. Power off the amp (leave the standby switch on)
4. While the big caps discharge you should hear the relay click

That would prove that relay is still alive but it doesn't mean relay is OK, the inside connectors could be bad.

Like I said just thinking here
 Huh?

mcinku,
Off topic: I must fess up and say that I am the one who hath smite you.  It was a total accident.  My sincerest apologies.  Embarrassed

Really  Huh?, man I don't even remember that. Are you sure you have the right man.  Huh?
885  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: I lost my clean channel somehow ... on: April 14, 2008, 06:19:13 PM
Can you maybe change the V1 tube... maybe swap it with the OD (V2)

If your clean ch would be dead I think your OD ch would not work either. Do you know how to measure your plate voltage on the V1 tube?

...or maybe there's something wrong with your OD relay  Huh?.

I'm not a tech, just thinking what I would check first.
 Undecided
