I just measured the voltage across the big caps and I noticed something interesting.
When I switch off the amp ( and it doesn't matter if the off switch goes first and the standby after one minute )... somehow the caps gets discharged, no action needed.
I don't know why or how... maybe it's the design of the amp.

...but don't take my word on this, please measure the voltage yourself.
 Huh?

Hi Nik,

I said around and not exactly, so if I exaggerated a little I just might be close enough.

...I took my OTS to my local amp tech. He wanted to see it.  Grin

We measured the output power at 1kHz and it was around 43W.
Just want to share this for your info.

A guy who builds Ceriatones in my country gave me a DC30 for a couple of days.
BTW he has several other amps laying around too (JMT45, 18W, JCM800, Bluesbreaker, DC30, 5E3, Plexi SuperLead-a, Overtone - that's what I can remember, maybe even more. He said he has TW amps coming in as well.)  Shocked Shocked
I think I will be going to that guy more often from now on, I want to try them all.  Grin

Man, I was impressed.
I just bought Overtone from Nik and I'm still glad I did that, but I would be just as happy if I would go for DC30.
DC30 possess this clarity and presence but not in harsh way at all. Very musical amp. Overtone is much smother amp compared to DC30, that was the reason I bought it in a first place BTW.
Bottom line, I would not mind having a DC30 in my amp stable at all.

Well, I have 1265 in my OTS cab and I have Greenback extension cab.

I concur, the sound is awesome.

As far as I know Nik uses CAD.

Does it work well with the Overtone?

M.

Well, I like it very much but I feel nervous while using it, 'cause it has just 25W. Wouldn't like to fry it.

My 1x12 is like that. It has a door at the back which can be removed to make it a open-back.

Actually, the cab I have ordered is an ISO-Cab but it can be used as a normal speaker too. I want to be able to push the speaker a bit more without having bothering the neighbours.

Also, I am curious to see if the Greenback can get me a g12-65 tone with an earlier break-up.

Marin

It can definitely break-up earlier,... it's still a Celestion sounding, just more Fenderish compared to 1265.

This is my cab...

Forgot to say...

pre OD network resistor is still 150K and OD level is still 250K-A on that schematic.
On the new layout you can see that pre OD resistor is 220K and OD pot is 100K-L

I have just the preamp part (red values for OTS, black is #124)...
