Ceriatone / Overtone / Head shell for sale

My original plan was to make two head shells and cover one in black and one in blonde to see which I liked. Problem was, when I actually got to think about it, if I liked the blonde then I'd have to recover my 4x10 in blonde, then I'd have to recover my 5w SE to match. So I got sensible.
So I now have two covered in black, one of which is available. PM me if interested. I'm in the UK

Yeah they do, parts come to $17 and shipping is $25!! I will ask Nik if he's going to do a mod kit I think.

Thanks guys. I went for the Two Rock look in the end, I reckoned that the wood bar would be easier than the aluminium strip.
The cab belongs to my Fender Twin which I separated into a head and cab, which I'm now going to sell since its really is p**s poor compared to the OT. I think I'll build another slightly bigger cab that stands on end like the TR cabs and fill it with G12-65's.
I will post a head cab drawing as soon as I can update it to take account of all the mods I did as I went along. It will be an easy job to adapt to make a combo, just longer sides plus larger section battens to mount the baffle. I quite fancy a combo but am unsure whether a 1x12 will do the amp justice

Well done. I'm still getting used to mine in its original state, got a gig with it on the 17th and will consider doing the mods afterwards or maybe wait until I've made my 2x12 (G12-65's). Though I am begining to be a little impatient to try these mods, but here in th UK I'm finding it difficult to source the parts from someone who I trust (I don't know a good cap from a crap one).
I think I'll email Nik and ask if he can supply a kit of parts.

BTW: I also like the trimmer set lower....it really changes the character of the OD in a very nice way, but too low doesn't sound as good to me either. There seems to be a sweet spot.
Where would you reckon the sweet spot is? I like it a 8o'clock but could tolerate anything up to 10o'clock I think, and might have to compromise to get the ratio where I need it.

Yes the Ratio only applies to the OD 'channel' . I've used 5751's in critical OD and indeed V1 positions in my other Fender amps to good effect so I might try that but, with lower gain in both sides of V2 the Ratio will still have a lower range which is what I'd like to change.

I've had my amp at one rehearsal with my 4x10 cab and love the clean side of it, I just wish the'd let me turn it UP!!!. I have the OD trimmer on the back panel so have had chance to fiddle with it a lot and I am finding I prefer it low, about 8 o'clock. I still have plenty of scope at that position to vary the amount of overdrive with the level control, but generally prefer this low aswell to give a mildly overdriven sound and I then use a pedal and the PAB to generate some additional OD.
Now my problem is that with the trimmer set very low and the level set low aswell, there is virtually no scope for a volume boost with the ratio pot. Even with this on max I don't get much increase in volume and I do want some more. So I'm wondering if there is a possibility of changing some components to alter the range of the ratio pot?
Thanks guys.
Oh BTW my OD trimmer is the 100k version and the preOD resistor is 220k. I haven't done JackZ's mods yet but am in the process of assembling the components to get them done. I've decided not to wait until I've built a 2x12 (G12-65's) on the basis that I can always change back.

but the Overtone uses toggles, and the pins on the toggle are "opposite" the throw of the lever.
mmmmm, thats why my footswitch only works when toggles are set to manual!. I thought I had just wired it wrong!!

He uses the Two Rock almost exclusively live now. I believe he's on his second Two Rock, the current one is a 100watter.
