The Youtube Brad P clip sounds, are supernice. However, I doubt it that you can get those right out of the can. What you're hearing on that track is not just an amp with a sm57 in front of it, but 1) the result of great playing, 2) good recording technique (with perhaps a royer ribbon close and a room mic a couple of feet away). 3) Great mixing skills, carefully compressing and eq'ing instruments to gel in with each other 4) best in class mastering technique After writing the above, I did a simple google search (!) and found this link: http://www.musicradar.com/guitarist/brad-paisleys-gear-267937Effects: Compressor + Tubescreamer + slap delays Speakers: These are 2 x 12 cabinets, with one [Celestion] Blue and one Gold. Two Blues can give you a little bit much in the low end when they break up, so one Blue and one Gold solves that."

Heatingwires in the air + lead dress close to the chassis are important aspects in getting a nice dumble tone.
I've been wondering about this. Nik's pictures have the heater wires AND the lead dress both against the chassis, right up next to each other. All I can say for certain is that my amp sounds REALLY nice the way I did it. And it's been great to have this forum to learn all this cool stuff about amp building from - and I really need to check out ampgarage also! Ok, but remember that Nik got all his designs from Ampgarage, including the 'new' FM and 183 models. So perhaps Nik has just copied the wrong heater design :-D If your amp is quiet and sounds nice as is, don't change a thing

Heater wires up in the air, fender style. Interesting.
Thats the way everybody does it at ampgarage.com. Check it out! Heatingwires in the air + lead dress close to the chassis are important aspects in getting a nice dumble tone.

Ceriatone / Overtone / Bluesmaster settings - keep the Bass control dialed in low
|

There seem to be some confusion regarding the Bluesmaster, people tend to believe that the PI (Phase inverter) and/or poweramp is the reason for ealy break up in Bluesmasters. It all comes down to excessive bass in the Bluesmaster preamp. Period :-) If you want a balanced tone from the Bluesmaster preamp, you have to keep the Bass (and mid) control really, really low.
If you are in doubt about this, make a search for a picture of Matt Schofield or Larry Carlton's Bludo BLUESMASTER settings, and you will see that both players have the tone control settings close to:
- treble at '5' (12 o'clock) - mid at 3 (9 o'clock) and - BASS at 2½ (8:30 o'clock).
You might argue that a stellar player like Scott Lerner, who use mostly Bluesmaster amps (Glaswerks and Bludo's) has his tone controls at noon?? Yes, but Scott Lerner almost always plays lead guitar on his clips - with OD and PAB on. AND Scott use MAGA BOOST, which in effect means that in his clips the tone controls are not active at all.
Hope this helps
PS: I have recently finished a Bluesmaster 100w with EL34s, and it took me a LOT of tweaking time to get the amp trimmers diales in. Compared to skyliner amps (I have 3 skyliner based amps) the Bluesmaster i should really be labelled; BASSMASTER :-)
PPS: @ 'Boldaslove', this is not relevant for you my man, since your preamp is a skyliner and NOT Bluesmaster)

Fully agree with Nairbr regarding amp settings for both Strats and les paul guitars.
However, if the amp in question is a BLUESMASTER, early breakup will happen if the BASS POT is above 2½-3 (8:00-8:30 o'clock). The Bluesmaster amps are bass monsters, so you have to keep that pot way down.

Currently running Shuguang KT88's @ 64mA. Huge improvement over both the JJ 6L6's and Winged C, Shugaung EL34's
in terms of dynamic range ? warmer midrange or ?

They're JJ 6L6GC's.
And I love my EMG's - not about to change them. I couldn't give a damn what Steven thinks, whoever he is.
It's great that your are respectfull and in love with your EMG's....... 'Steven' aka Steven_nl, just happen to be one of the king people at this forum, who tries to help a Dumble novice like yourself, by answering a lot of questions from newbees. I'm sure it's not your intention to insult anyone, but we like to keep a good tone in our posts on this forum - not only in our amps. If you get my drift.

I made an EMG pickguard with two SA 'single coils' and a 89 in the bridge position.
I've always liked Steve Lukathers tone a lot, but it doesnt really work for me and especially not when playing dumble style amps.
I guess the EMG's had the hey days back in the 80s when we used a lot of noisy effects in racks and TOTO was THE band.
These days, I prefer Duncan antiquities in my strat with a telesounding Duncan twangbanger in the bridge position. It really makes my strat sound like a RF tele in teh bridge pos.

I ended up buying two "as new" Eminence "Texas Heat" speakers on EBAY and threw them into a Weber cab to use with my Creme Brulee and JTM-20 and honestly they sound fantastic. Check them out!
Interesting speaker. I would expect it to be a pretty bright speaker, looking at the giant 3K peak: http://eminence.com/pdf/texasheat.pdfHowever, more often than not, a frequency curve tells you nothing about how a speaker sounds and feels in real life. Great that you've both found 'your' speaker

Regarding speakers for the Bluesmaster, I finally have an amp to use with my 1x12" Theile, in which I have an EV12L or an Eminence Kappa Pro.
This is a great speaker combination for a Bluesmaster.
I also have a 1x12" and a 2x12" loaded with 80s Celestion 12G65s, which are also nice with the Bluesmaster, but not as great as the thiele cab w. EV12L.

..............Never tried any Webers.... hard to come by here in EU.
I bought two 10" weber alnicos directly from weber in US. Arrived here in 1 week. IMLE Weber is very easy to deal with and the pices are very fair/low. I used these speakers in a 4x10 Bassman....not in a dumble.
