what are you guys biasing the amps at?  I am around 41ma right now I believe.  I'm running the sovtek power tubes that were in there when I got the amp.  I switched out to TAD 6L6's briefly but didn't quite like them so I switched back to the sovteks.  Maybe I had the TAD's biased to hot?  I think I had them up around 44 if I remember correctly.

I should clarify.  I'm specifically talking about the clean channel of the amp.  Not the OD channel.  And I wouldn't call it brightness, rather, harshness.  In fact in a weird way, it gets better (to me) when i flip the bright switch on.  I bought all the components for Jzuckers mod list and am wondering how this will help/affect my situation.  Any input is appreciated.

My OTS sounds great with the master volume down below 9 o'clock but when i start to crank it up it seems to get a little more of an edge that i don't like.  What is it that causes this and how can I fix it?

71  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: The TUBES Thread on: January 29, 2012, 07:33:38 PM
Well I got some TAD 6l6's in as well as the nos rca short plate for v1 as suggested by another member.  Popped them in and was disspointed.  Then I remembered to check the bias.  The amp was way cold so I dialed it in at around 38-39ma and gave her another shot.  I can't make a full report yet because the wife was napping but I can say I am excited amp warmed way up and the clean channel and od sound awesome.  Much tighter bass.  Will report back later with more details

I'm also noticing that when I turn the send knob back and forth all the way it does nothing to the sound.  Could this be a bad pot?
74  Ceriatone / Overtone / Fuchs Verbrator Stopped Working in Series Mode. Still getting distant sound? on: January 10, 2012, 03:12:19 AM
Ok so I've done some rearranging of my gear. I got a 3u rack to hold a voltage refulator and power conditioner and while i was at it I converted some of my crappy cables over to george L's. I use a ceriatone overtone special with the verbrator as an external FX loop and reverb unit. I the only pedal i have in the loop right now is a deja vibe. And if I take the vibe out of the mix i still have the problem. When the unit is in parallel mode it sounds fine but when i pull the send knob to put it into series mode the sound goes from normal to doing this thing where you can here the guitar but the sound is almost like it's way off in the distance. It's the same sound that it makes if you turn the send knob down to low. It's spacey and dreamy sounding, more like an organ than a guitar. I have looked through everything and I can't figure out what the problem is. I wonder if the tube in the verbrator got damaged while I was moving things around?

I'm at my wits end here. Someone please tell me that I'm overlooking something super simple.

Title is pretty self explanitory.  Just wondering if there is something that the C-lator has the the verbrator does not?
