Things are slowly moving along...

Nothing much is going on, I'm waiting for this big sticker which I design for my faceplate... nothing fancy but still takes time. 

All I managed to do so far is this...

Well, my friends OTS had the same symptoms and it was a PT issue. In his case 345-0-345 secondary was fried.
I informed Nik and he send me a new one, which I replaced.
BTW the current PTs are bigger than older ones, so I assume the new one will definitely last forever.

My OTS still has the original PT and it works no problem. I guess sometimes some trannies just fail.


BTW here's the picture I took when I took out the old PT. Guess which one is the new one. 

Well obviously the plate resistor is not RN65D type and caps are not Sprague PS but 716 (except 0.47uF, that one is 225P).
I also couldn't find 1K3 cathode resistor, I used 1K4 instead.

Thanks to Erwin (he pushed me over the edge  ), I decided to build this thing.

Let me tell you, sourcing parts here in EU is real pain in the a** and at the end, I was not even able to get everything I wanted.
At least now I know how easy is to order a kit from Nik.
...anyway, I have what I have and now the fun part starts... 

My first eyelett board build ever 

I was thinking about this as well but at the end, I decided to have external device... reason is 'cause I have rack (for my Lexicon), so no problem here.

With 2x6L6 I see no reason why this could not be done but with standard C-tone chassis and with 4x6L6 amp,...fitting another tube will be a challenge.
My guess is... that's also the reason why mr. D did it in a first place.

Which mods are you getting?

Yes she might like it... and tube looks tempting as well. 
Just imagine what she could do to a nice NOS tube.
