I just noticed tube-town don't offer VOX type grill, sorry.

...but you can get the grill from here... another amp parts EU shop

333  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: My Bass Control Doesn't Work-Help? on: April 16, 2010, 08:25:38 AM
Maybe its my amp cabs being a few inches from wall, not sure, but when I hit low E string only, bass booms out like a bass guitar.  Anyone have any suggestions - only on low E string - rattles my room....lol

I have the same thing happening... in my small room the bass is to strong,... in a bigger room I have no issues.
I installed the deep switch which will tighten the bass and it helps.

334  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Hrm or Bluesmaster hrm on: April 14, 2010, 08:15:37 AM
I would go for HRM... Bluesmaster is more mid scooped sounding amp. You will get more mid content with HRM and mids is what Matts tone is all about isn't it.
Bluesmaster is a bit different animal .... huge bottom, less mids, more raw sounding amp

We had one of those meetings as well...
...not only C-tone amps but most of them were... here's the photo

Let's see two Express amps, Rock It, DC30, BM HRM and an OTS

I'm not posting the guitars... it's to much to handle  Grin

Definitely to much amps to try them out properly... but it was a fun day and if I could, I would do that every weekend  Grin
336  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overdrive ... Or how do you use your Overtone? on: April 07, 2010, 12:23:48 PM
I started out with using OTS clean channel and my pedalboard... but when I tried to use OD from the amp, my delay and reverb pedal were not working... so I had to go with the loop solution... now with additional loop setup, it was just to much of everything... I wanted something simple, so I finally gave up the pedalboard and start using only the OD in the amp.
It took some time to get accustomed to new tone. I had to modify the amp a bit to suit my needs better but on the end I was more than happy. The dynamics you get from the amp is just not there with the pedals .. it takes more effort but the reward is there.
Now I'm using my OTS and BM HRM this way and I'm not looking back...I'm a believer.

On the other hand my friend doesn't want to touch the OD in his OTS... he adores the clean ch and his pedals and his tone is awesome.  Grin

This is my BM HRM rig

This section needs a little refresh...  Wink

I just got my AirBrake clone and it works quite well... here's the prove.

338  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Step by step BM HRM build... on: April 02, 2010, 07:04:36 PM
the wires I used for heaters will handle the current just fine.

BTW this is Niks BM HRM picture...

same wire as mine.

I used this one cause it's easier to wire. I used the heavier gage wire on my TW build and I didn't like it... way harder to do it right.

341  Website, Store / General / Re: using reverb? infront or loop on: March 31, 2010, 09:24:40 AM
I you're style is clean amp with some OD pedals,... than infront is OK (just put it at the end of your pedal chain).
If you use amps OD, than loop is a must to me... but with loop, other issues might appear.
Like impedance mismatch, overloading AD converters, serial loop path (some prefer parallel) ...
342  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HRM "low freq short on: March 31, 2010, 06:24:20 AM
If you ask me this is a cold solder issue.

I had similar experience once... something funky was happening with my amp. In the cab I had issues but on the bench everything was fine.
I found the culprit at the end... on the bench amp was not vibrating and it was always fine but in the cab and with speaker working, the amp was vibrating and some funky sounds were happening.

Hi Mcinku; that LNFB at v1b. Those resistors are 22M, not 22k!

Ufff my mistake...

now it's fixed

thanks

Layout is on Niks site obviously... just take away the power amp part.

Here's preamp schematic of #124... the red values are from OTS S&M.
