It might be helpfule to geenerate interest (and for my lack of knowledge) to maybe give a description of the SSS. I.E. tubes sound, what artist (i.e.l SRV) have used one. Maybe a short werite up on the differences from the OTS series?
Just thinkin' out loud (well, in print)

I hope I can ease your mind. I have 2 amps from Nik. If you have questions, email him and he will get back to you in an hour if not minutes. The support is fantastic. He will walk you through everything. I have a 2550 and a 18/36 watt EF86. both are wonderful. It will take approx. 4 weeks from when your order is received (or at least mine did). You can email Nik for updates if you like as well. He will tell you what the shipping cost will be. You can also track the shipping.
Nothing but high praises from me on the whole experience.

Tone, thanks for the response. I play mine through a Marshall 1960 (4) 12"s. Speakers are standard issue 75's. It's an awesome sound. Kind of a one trick pony, but if that just on the edge of break-up with a lot of harmonics is what you like, this is for you. I spent a lot of time trying to dial it in. Here are the setting that I'm settled on. Might save you some time. Presence 5:00 Bass 8:00 Middle 7:00 Treble 6 - 7:00 Output Master 7 - 8:00 Lead Master turn up to taste. In the house, I'm about 2 Rhythm I don't use this switch Input Gain 5 - 6:00 I play through a LP R8 and a 60's player's Strat with the Custome Shop 69 PU's. Signal path is: Boss TU Cry Baby Full Drive 2 to the amp Effects Loop Hardwire RV - 7 reverb Boss DD 6 Really dont need the Full Drive 2, but I like the way it throuws it over the edge. Hope this helps. I also have the 18 / 36 wat EF86. I set this amp clean and play both amps at the same time in stereo.

British Style / JCM 800 2203, 2204, 2550, 2555 / 2550 volume drop

I;ve had the 2550 (Built by Nik) for a few months now. Just started to notice that after I play for approx. a half hour, the volume drops. There are no buzzing or other sounds, just the volume drop.
Is it the tubes already? I don't play that much and at low volumes.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Everyone,
Want to add a tremolo to the effects mix.
Right now I've got a delay and reverb in the effects loop, and a OD out front. Where's the best place to put the tremelo?
Thanks for your help.

To me, reverb, chorus, delay (if you have a loop) are much easier to control. When you get those 3, plus a distortion and a wah and what ever else in front, it gets a little loud and I get some weird slap back stuff from the delay.

British Style / 18 Watt / Re: 18 Watt TMB or JTM45

I have the 18 / 36 watt TMB. I usually run it on 36 watt just for the headroom. I really like it! Great cleans and dirt with an OD pedal. I miss having an effects loop, but other than that its great. I rarely use just the TMB portion of the amp. I will jump the channels to get more of a "Voxy" feel from time to time. It does take pedals very well.

British Style / 18 Watt / Re: What's the difference? 18W TMB vs 18W TMB EF86

I just got the 36 watt TMB EF86.
The TMB (treble, middle, bass) is the main channel and it does have a master volume. The channel EF86 has only a 6 position tone knowb annd a volume.
The EF86 channel sounds more like a Vox than a Marshall, with the TMB sounding a great deal like a marshall. You can easily get overdiven tones at bedroom volumes. It is an amazing little amp. Don't be deceived, it is LOUD!!!
My 36 w. (in either the 18 or 36 watt mode) takes pedals very well. I run a Gibson R8 to an OCD to a DD6 delay to an EH Holygrail reverb with no issues at all.
I'm not sure about th 18 w., but on the 36 watt you can jump the channels (4 imputs: a high and low imput for poth channels). This is really fun. I'll plug the guitar chain into the TMB high imput, then jump the TMB low imput to the EF86 high imput. That was you can use the EW knobs frm both channels at the same time. Really a blast!
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Just got my 36W. TMB EF86 from Nik. Ordered on March 9th and arrived on April 3rd. I love the TMB channel! Great Old Marshall sound at minimal volume. You can deffinately tell the head room difference from the 36w. to the 18w. switch
Have not played much with the EF86 channel. Seems a little bright.
It seems to take pedals well. My chain is guitar - OCD - DD6 Delay - Holygrail. Had to play with the delay quite a bit, but very good tone in no time. I'm playing through a Gibson Les Paul Historic R8. Really sounds nice.
Playing through a Marshall 1960 slanted cab and it sounds really beefy. Also just tried it through the Epiphone Value Junior Cab with a 1 x 12. Not near as ballsy, but still sounded good!
If you've been on the fence about this amp, climb down and place your order!!!

Should be getting my amp in the next week or so. Question for anyone regarding the "burn-in" period on the tubes.
Does this mean just leave the amp with the power on for some amount of time? Or, does the guitar need to be giving the amp a signal?

According to the official Joe Bonamassa web site, the Slash model is very similar with additional gain. I played one a while back at a local GC and it was very nice. Good variety of harmonics and good clean tone. A bit difficult to dial in though.
Tones of info on Joe B.'s multi - amp set-up on his web site.
