286  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS Deep switch Mod - Hey Mcinku on: June 14, 2010, 06:42:16 AM
I hardly ever use bright switch at all... the value which was originally there was to bright for me... so that's why I reduced the values.
If it sounds good, don't touch it.

Building amps is fun isn't it.

Mark my words... this is not your last amp you built   Wink

... just look at me.... right now I'm starting on Prinzetone

After my reserch I just placed an order as well.... obviously I don't know how this amp is going to sound but I have a gut feeling this is  going to be an awesome sounding amp.

..anyway we'll know soon I guess.

I'm sure Nik would give you some info about your amp.... I remember when I was waiting for my OTS.... Nik said I had to wait 4 weeks for delivery and like he said, the fourth week amp was delivered.

Perhaps this could work with 20 orders in the queue...

I think Nik said he ships 200 amps per month... now that's a challenge I would say.

But I agree, it would be nice to see what's going on with your order... but if he stays true to the delivery date he provides... I'm fine with that as well, ... even it that's more than a month sometimes.   Sad

.... indicates that he isn't a very good businessman.  Maybe a great amp builder, but I'm not sure that's enough for me.

Hold on, there something wrong with this statement...

So you would prefer to send your money to a good businessman than to a good amp builder.
 Huh?

Good businessman to me, is somebody who can spend as little as he can to make a product and charge for as much as he can to make a profit... right?
In order to make something with minimum cost in mind, you have to use cheap parts and use "cheap" unskilled labor.

You're right Nik is not a businessman, he uses high grade parts and his guys are a pro amp builders... I doubt he's going cheap on them (for their standard obviously)... and his prices are fair. You can clearly see that this is a man who loves what he's doing... and while doing this, he does not rip off the customers.

A guy like that, can have my money anytime.

I hope he doesn't mind   Huh?

People who buy your stuff know what they are getting... and people ranting about it, are not your customers.

Ask your self, do you get more orders or less orders... if you're getting more (which is my guess), than your know what is the general feeling about your amps. Don't go and spoil that.

If you're doing something wrong is MARKETING... man, you suck at that.
First of all, you need to redo your web site... put shitload more info about your amps in there. Be more involved in a forum like this one... perhaps even take an occasional stand in some hostile territories  Wink.

...but be ready to react... more orders will come and you better deliver them all.

Yes I think you're right...

perhaps something like this is an option...

 Huh?
296  American Style / PrinzeTone / Re: My little Prinzetone research... on: June 02, 2010, 07:24:28 PM
I use 10" with my Champ and it sounds fine but every time I use 12" cab it sounds even better. I like to have a huge low end but it has to be tight... so far I didn't get that from any 10" speaker I tried. Maybe if I would use 2 or even 4 but I don't like big cabs... that's not practical for me.
297  Website, Store / General / Re: Did you notice.... we have a new prinze in the town on: June 02, 2010, 02:44:38 PM
Prinzetone chassis is the same as for the Champ Ultra... I guess you could go either way... head or combo, top mount or bottom depends how you turn the face plate.... I think.

I will definitely go with 12" speaker...which one I still don't know. I have an old UK made Greenback in a box somewhere... I also have one cab with Celestion Gold in it and another one with G12-65. I will try all of them and than I will decide...

I plan on doing some clips but don't wait on me, it's going to take some time before I'm ready.

Hope it sounds OK.

Your kidding right...

...send this piece of shit to me right away... maybe I can still salvage it somehow....

... but to make it worthy again, it will take at least 5 years if not more and than you can get ti back.

Prinzetone is not just a non-verb BF Princetone clone, it's much more than that...
300  American Style / PrinzeTone / My little Prinzetone research... on: June 02, 2010, 11:24:33 AM
I think this could be useful for anybody interested in this amp...

...this amp is based on non-verb BFPR (aa964) amp but in fact Prinzetone is not just a clone of this amp.
Nik changed tone stack and he used smaller V1a grid stopper and he increased V1 plate resistors (more gain). He also changed the vibro part a little bit, he added NFB pot and bias pot. Tone stack is now closer to Dumble Bluesmaster tonestack... it has more mids and different low end compared to standard BF Fender tone stack. (check the tonestack jpg)

I was so intrigued by all this changes that I already ordered my kit.... I plan on using bigger trannies to accommodate 6L6 power tubes for more clean headroom. It's already in the mail... can't wait to get it.  Grin

Here's the schematics and the freq. curve of the tonestack.  Wink
