Marin, Soon. We're shipping em as soon as we can. We can only do 3 per week it seems, cant go any faster than that, we tried. And new cabs just arrived. Finally, these look real good, I think and should be the final. I should have pics very soon, with amp inside cab. Do check Monday, latest, if anybody is interested. And footswitches! Still need to wire em all up, as the enclosure is tolexed wood as well and a batch just also arrived. As for the amp, I must say that it was done on the basis of the 80s type. Its got its own sound going. The HRM type would be a different thing. We'll see... The OD can be quite brutal if needed. If playing at ratio and level max or close, do disengage the mid boost (deep). It will tighten it up. If you find cool settings, do write it down. I keep forgetting to do this, and it's hard to find it again. It can do many things so the problem is always, while searching for one sound, Id find another and start going with that for a while. And forgetting about what I looked for in the first place. As pointed out, guitar, speakers, etc do matter. I am still being surprised each time something new is played with the amp. (Andrew - those Lollar blackfaces did sound awesome with that guitar of yours!). Anyways, it's late and Im off to bed early tonight! To all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (dont worry, all of us here are working throughout the break, ye waiting for amps!). Thanks! Nik

Hi, I think lots of people use NOS for the EF86 tube instead. This seems to bring the most change. We can't stock NOS due to availability and price, sorry. Take it slow.. a NOS could suddenly come floating by when you least expect it. Like in old radios (those old ones had lots of Telefunken tubes!)! Thanks! Nik

Heya,
I will need to take a look at that, as it'd mean a totally different way of doing. I am not sure if the vendor is up for it.
What i have now is same as plexi. Ie, silkscreened from the back, and then painted. Finally, a backing (white) is applied.
The apply-from-front types I have seen here, arent so good. Ie, it's easy to mess the writing.
Thanks!
Nik

Hi,
The JTM50 does have more of the JTM45 values to the components as well, ie it's not just 1987 with tube recto.
I love how these amps are so similar in layout, thats what's so smart about them, production wise.
Would be good to see how tweaking to 1987 specs bring you (only a few component changes).
Thanks!

Cool,
Yeah, the shuguangs sound great - I am still using the ones that you sent me, but they are starting to rattle. (though that's after hours and hours of full volume use). Not a big deal, but I can hear it through the speakers now. Might have to put some new ones in.
Hi, I see. How long do you think you logged on the tubes before the rattle? If you check put in new ones, let me know if it cures the problem. Perhaps something else? Tubes do wear out, after usage, I have to say. Thanks! Nik

Hello Mathieu, Hey man, nice to see you here. As for the changes, they're doable but if possible send to a tech to be safe. I have posted the layout of the BB on the website: http://www.ceriatone.com/images/layoutPic/marshallLayout/BluesBreakerCeriatone.jpg Let me know about the bright cap on the volume pot? As for the tremolo, what we did was the Fender style tremolo, the one that used the power tube bias to modulate it. Indeed, this requires for the tubes to be biased lower for it to be making much effect. I am still baffled as to the trem, why it isnt there. I think, I will make a change to the trem circuit so that it is back to the original JTM45 Bluesbreaker type. Thanks! Nik

Hello,
Great!
The dims are correct.
Do note that each side of the chassis, there are screw heads jutting out.
As such, more than 19.25" is needed. Perhaps 19.375" inside dims.
Or the chassis can be redrilled to act as counter sink at these screw holes.
On my cab, we have the aluminum pcs on the sides, so it allows for some space.
Will have pics soon! Well, I do, but at the office. Will post.
Thanks!

Hi,
Well, here's what happened.
I thought of implementing the 1/2 power using triode mode.
But it'd mess up the nice looks. Plus, I dont think the amp is that loud (ok, i know I need a near pair of ears)
I dont think the 1/2 power should mess the tone that much?. The drop is not that significant, but it's there. At least, thats what we have for the other pentode/triode mode that we have done.
I think Jelle suggested the switch to change value of PI cathode resistor, resulting in lower volume. This would be a way to go too.
Thanks!
Nik

Hi
75?? Really??
I was thinking 50! Duh!
Heheh.. I had it in the plan but we got so tied up.
Perhaps one day. I am pretty sure those germanium transistors have dried up here. Lots of pedal tweakers around here.
Thanks!
Nik
