Hmm lost a previous post it seems I think most of us waited for 12 weeks for the amp.
Lots if things you can try: - burn in the tubes - set the OD trimmer to 9-9.30 (see other posts on this) - Different tubes - Use the Kleinulator fx loop
The diffenrent volume and gain settings all work together. Try setting all volume and gain levels to 4 (Rock= on, Deep = off , bright = off) and start tweaking from there also if you use an effect in the loop kake sure the levels are set ok. I hardly ever use the power bnoost switch.
Some guitars just don't sound that good on this amp
I hoop dat je hier wat aan hebt Groeten Steven

thanks guys
I have a Keeley Tube Screamer so I guess that helps. Clean on the OTS is pretty loud. But maybe a bit to punchy.
@pickmaster Disd you use the neck pickup on the last bit of the distorted mp3?

Ceriatone / Overtone / advise on getting a SRV tone

Hi guys
how would you go about getting a tone close to Stevie Ray Vaughn's? I have a Mexican strat with Texas Specials. Doesn't get anywhere near SRV's sound though.

Two years ago in Georgia before Russian military base clearance I’ve bought 100 military spec 6L6s for $20 from some Russian sergeant. 10 000 hours and high voltage capability, lovely sounding tubes. He also added 20 NOS Telefunken and 30 Tungsram ECC83s for $35 I guess I was lucky . The box alone is worth it :-)

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Multi-effects with OTS - Any recommendations?

I use a Rocktron Xpression. Downsides - Kind of hard to programm - It suffers from occaisonal static pops. - Only one type of reverb. There are no seperate plate, hall, room and spring reverbs. With some tweaking you can get close to those efefcts but it needs some work. - same with most of the other effects. you have to set them up - no pc tweaking.
Positive sides - It has an internal mixer. Yoy can switch the unit to parrallel. The dry tone doesn't go through an A/D converter. only the effects are converted and are mixed with the original signal. That way your nice OTS will remain the same and you can mix in the reverb/delay etc. - nice effects - it has a pretty good leslie - you don't need to use a seperate fx loop to get the right signal

Hi Bcmatt. Thanks for that. It's much to complicated for me though. The bias setting seems to be fine. The sound is good and the tubes don't run to hot I think. I didn't have to change the bias setting that much compared to the Winged C's
@ Hywelg I have tried 3 kinds of power tubes: the JJ's, the Winged C's and the 5881's
I'm not that keen on a very direct clean sound. Some poeple seem to lke the " in your face" direct tone of a Twin reverb. It's a bit to much for me. The Winged C's (I tried them because Scott Lerner recommended them) were even more " direct" then the JJ's. Plus the OD seemed to be harsher, just not as nice, even compared to the JJ's. With nasty edge when using a bit to much gain. Plus they didn't seem to have a nice feedback. It was hard for me to dial in a good sound. Especially using 3 types of guitars (Tele, Strat and Hamer with SD '59's). At first I thought it had something to do with the OD Trimmer. I had one installed on the back panel a the same time the Winged C's were put in.
Now I put in the 5881's and it's great. They sing more, the OD is sweeter without loosing agression. but there's no nasty edge on the sound. Even with a bit more gain they sound nice (now i can use the PAB). The sound is warm without loosing sparkle! Well worth trying them out IMHO.
I feel these tubes go well with this perticular amp. (JJ's in V1 V2 and PI)
Funny thing is I never thought myself as being an expert. I'm no great player at all. I always ask other peoples opinion and rely on that. Turns out I do know what I like and what I don't like. Maybe I don't have Dogears (Joke) but I should trust mu own ears more.
Mayor lesson: Power Tubes are VERY important to the sound!!!

GREAT! I did what you said one tube reads 34mV while the other reads 36mV. (I did order a matched pair). I must say my first impression (after 1 minute) is that they sound A LOT nicer then the Winged C's.
Thanks!!

Hi Guys I need to wait on a couple of new FET's. Mine blew. I had the unit repaired but not with the same parts. Mike was kind enough to offer to send me a few so I'll put those in and then I'll meet with Erwin for an A/B.
