228  Ceriatone / Overtone / Heads Up: New Overtone Mini 5SE on: October 25, 2008, 04:13:09 PM
Hello,

 It has to happen!  Grin

A scaled down, single ended overtone special.

Bare bones, but with all the tones.

No footswitching, you toggle it via a switch on the front plate.

This is my contribution (some at another place will argue it's my greed, but thats OK) for low volume D style amp, and for those on a budget.

It should serve as a good introduction to this style, without breaking the bank (I hope).

Price unknown yet but believe me I am trying hard to keep it real low for this type of handwired amp!

Should be released in 3 weeks or so.

Thanks!

Nik
229  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Having trouble w/ Clean Channel of my OTS 50! on: October 25, 2008, 04:06:39 PM
Hi

It doesnt work like fender.

For max clean, you set vol relatively high, keeping master low.

The most headroom is like clean at about 2 or 3 o clock, while master at 11 or so.

Thanks!

Hey man,

Cool!

Yeah, easier for us too. We're the only brand that doesnt care about branding the amps Smiley Would be hard to make custom plates for those who resell each time.

Dizzy30 - you think it's good? Great!

Thanks!

232  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: C30 Rectifier - 1x GZ34 or 2x 5V4 on: October 19, 2008, 06:51:57 PM

We do have 5V4 rectos as an option actually.

Not many ppl ask for them, so...

Thanks!

233  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: Glossy versus Matt Faceplates on: October 19, 2008, 06:50:17 PM
The ink is white, it's not very opaque.

The best way to make illuminated plate, I think would be to have the written part totally clear.

Then, apply a colored yet opaque backing to specific areas (depend on what color what what leters).

ie, when the light shines from the back, it'd be colored since its got to go thru the colored backing.

I am not sure about doing this, seems a lot of work for just looks.

It'd be easier just for the logo, however. Perhaps make the lights dance around, etc. I mean, if you want to do it, might as well make it crazy. Smiley)

Thanks!

Hey man.

I am sure we can work something out! Smiley

As for Dizzy30, it's on paper only.

Like most our plates, it wont have any naming on it. Makes it easy for those buying for resell or make their own amp lines.

Is the name fine?

Thanks!

235  British Style / 18 Watt / Re: EF86 TMB Owners UNITE !!!!! on: October 19, 2008, 03:54:17 PM
Hello

if NOS EF86 is too pricey, I also like the Svetlana "EF86".

These are old tubes, made for the Russian military with 6j32p designation.

I am getting em from Russi direct, been stocking on em Smiley

Thanks!

236  British Style / 18 Watt / Re: 36 Watt TMB EF86 - How Loud?!?! on: October 19, 2008, 03:48:10 PM
Hello,

Ah, the 36W EF86 - our most under rated amp ever. Smiley

As for loudness, I'd say it's just a hair less than a plexi50, really.

It does have the 1/2 power switch, so that might help a bit.

For those looking for a really good plexi sound, with a twist of Vox on the other channel, this is it.

Not sure, but for Jimi's cleaner stuff, this amp excels over the plexi50. It's as big sounding as the plexi100, less the volume.

The name isnt glamorous, I guess but I'll keep it that way.  Wink

Thanks!

237  British Style / 20 Watt Lead, Bass / Re: Lead and Bass Honeymoon on: October 19, 2008, 03:43:56 PM
Hello,

I think the 20W is a neat amp. But not as famous or well known, I guess.

It's an excellent platform for pedals, IMHO, as you two have found out!

  Thanks!

239  Ceriatone / Hey What?! / Re: So, what does a Hey What sound like?? on: October 19, 2008, 03:32:06 PM
Hello,

The Hey What family will be bigger soon with more of the classic models coming in. Including the JP model.

There are just too many of em, however, for me to add all.

Thanks!

240  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / Re: 5X3........intresting on: October 19, 2008, 03:28:03 PM
Hi

yeah we got tired of making custom  PT thats just too tall (due to small EI86 core).

Yeah, you can even use KT66. You can also go for 6V6s (strong ones like EH or JJ).

Basically, the PT is from the 5F4(and brothers) amp.

Should be good for those wanting bigger power/headroom for the 5E3!

Thanks!
