211  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How do you use your OTS? on: October 15, 2010, 06:11:07 AM
Power conditioner will ensure incoming voltage is within range, so it will protect your amp from surge and peaks, plus RF (Radio Frequency) filtering. Mine also has voltmeter and ammeter ... so this way I know what is going on in a certain situation.

Just imagine you are on some stage running your amp on some questionable generators and on the same phase light guy is switching on and off some big lights (kW)... that is bound to cause some voltage spikes. Things like that power conditioner will take care of... for more, you need a Voltage Regulator but like hywelg said, that stuff is expensive.

212  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How do you use your OTS? on: October 14, 2010, 10:59:14 AM
I try not to use anything in front of my OTS amps anymore, so my guitar goes directly into the amp and I have my home built  D-Lator along with Lexicon MPX-1 in the loop. I also use Suhr Mini Mix for the parallel functionality.
...and I power everything through PowerBrite Pro Power Conditioner.

I also modded the PAB in my nonHRM... I didn't like it before. Now it's built in a bluesmaster fashion but I used different resister value. Now I can use clean, OD and PAB on both ch. - more then enough for anything really.

My HRM Bluesmaster ....The amp has no balls,....

Well I played a lot of Ceriatone amps and I can say one thing BM has some serious balls.

and just one more thing...
...let say you buy Marshall amp, you pull out the tubes, put your own in and fry the amp.... then take it to a Marshall service and guess what they will tell you, when you ask if this is covered by your warranty.

Forgot to mention...

Picture above is just the OD part... but I think with that, you can figure out clean side as well...

this is the second clip of the HRM i have heard this week and i am just
knocked out by the tone. great, great blues tone amp.

this will be my next ceriatone kit.  [already have  a ceriatone 50wt plexi]

MCINKU, what tubes are in it? what speakers are you using in the clip?
cabs? etc..........

2 home build open back cabs - Fender style (same dimensions as DRRI)
in on cab I'm using Celestion Gold - grat speaker for bluesmaster OTS
the other cab is loaded with G12-65
I use JJ tubes in this amp - if JJ tubes are good enough for Robben Ford, who am I to complain  Grin
I used trannies provided by my local amp tech (his design)
the rest is standard Ceriatone kit - I think I changed one baypass cap value
on that clip I used Klein with TC Vintage delay and Boss RV5 in the loop
thats more or less everything

Emiel,
do you know how to measure your plate voltages?
It would be interesting to see if those are normal.
