Forgot to mention.....Nice gear and a really sweet looking ride. I used to dabble (long ago) in custom airbrush work so I can appreciate fine bike art. I would love to see a few close ups. One of these days I want to do an airbrushed amp head....true flames on black....Lavalle style.

Poipounder,
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Warmoth teles. I have a couple of teles and since I play a lot of country I really want to love them but alas every tele neck I have ever played just doesn't jive with me. American, Japanese, it doesn't seem to matter. I love the tone but I always feel like I'm in a battle with the guitar. I pick up one of my strats after and it's like ....ah,, that's better. How are your Warmoth necks?

Website, Store / Suggestions / Re: Is there plans for a SLO Clone

The SLO is the most cloned amp out there. The SLO Clone forums actively and Openly clone SLO amps, as does Ted Weber. That would be an amp that no one in their right mind could even argue about cloning.
I wouldn't assume anything in the little world of amp building.

nice work!
how do you do those piping channels on the corners?
If you have a full size cabinet saw it's as simple as setting your blade to 45 degrees with a sacrificial straight edge attached to your fence. BUT, I only have a contractors saw and when the blade is set to 45 degrees the blade extends too far out even at it's lowest depth of cut. So, I had to make a jig that slides along and over the fence and holds the cab at a 45 degree angle to a 90 degree blade. It works pretty well actually. I am currently thinking of designs for a jig that I can use a router (hand held) to cut the kerfs. If there are any jig design genious' please help me out.

Nutcracker suite, Swan Lake, Cats soundtrack, and River Dance. My 5 year old is doing ballet so every time I turn the stereo on....I have no say.......no sympathy from my wife either.
Aside from that,,,whatever my mood suites. Jazz is pretty much the only form of music I can't tolerate for more than a song or two. It's like perpetual foreplay.....
Does that mean chicks dig jazz? Oh wait..you said perpetual..sorry.. My wife digs it......lol

Hi guys, Yes, all the cabs I've been building lately are for others. No time for building my own nice gear... Here is the complete unit.

Hey Scott,
Good of you to chime in. I love your playing, your wisdom and your passion.
I actually kind of like all the heated debate of the TGP amp forum as long as it stays debate with well thought out opinions. It's when the name calling and posts like,,,,"wooptifreekindo" from grown men that I cash out. I enjoy your posts because you have a point and they are always good ones. Good debate is healthy to keep the blood flowing in this 60 year old technology. I tend to agree that Nik may have been swamped with requests and as you mentioned there is a lot of time and concentration in these builds. This ain't no tweed....lol.
When I look back now it is entirely possible that I had a small hand in Nik's decision to halt production. I posted on several forums about the amp "being built" and there must have been at least 25 people email me personally for details. This was long before the amp was publicly announced on Nik's site. But, who knows.
Cheers,
ChrisL
