Hi. Well done on your build.
Considering having a go at building one myself, save time and money against waiting for a complete amp from Nik.
Could you tell me what documentation comes with the amp kit?
Also, what is involved in building from kit form?

Website, Store / General / Re: Tax and /or Duty in Europe?

I guess the way to look at it is - even if you do get charged the full amount of duty and tax etc, you're still getting one hell of an amp at a fraction of what other companies would charge you for similar..!!
At least that's how I'm justifying the extortionate levels of tax we have to pay when bringing goods into the country...

Ceriatone / Overtone / Overtone - How easy/hard to assemble??
|
on: May 02, 2008, 07:33:05 AM
|
Okay, so I have some experience with a soldering iron as I did 1 year of an Electronics degree before dropping out, so my question is this:
How easy or hard is the Overtone to assemble if I only bought it in kit form from Nik?
I'm assuming that the wait for the kit would be less than the wait for it fully assembled, plus there'd the the satisfaction at the end of being able to say that I'd built it.
What instructions/diagram does it come with if any?
If I tried and failed, is it reasonable to expect that a recent amp tech could put it right?
Thanks for the help...

Any chance you could post that clip as an mp3, I surf from work and it filters out any embedded clips, but will stream mp3 files.
Saving for a OTS and really interested in the clean sounds you're getting as I'm mainly a clean/mild OD player but love the sounds several players get from their Dumbles...but can't afford one!!

Still in the process of saving for an OTS, but once I get one, would want something of this type. If you can get something together with Nik it would obviously take away from you any responsibility over warranty etc...
In theory could it be built into the amp?

Website, Store / Suggestions / Re: Why no 5E8A?

I was wondering this too...
I'm trying to find out if the 5E8A circuit was close enough to one of the ones Nik does make that one of those could be modded to suit...
I'll let you know what I find out, meantime if anyone can advise us...that would be nice...
