Hi Erwin

WOW Looks like pro stuff. Very impressive. So is your plan to test all 3 configurations (or maybe all 4 with your previous build), Test them and then select the best option and then alter the others to those specs?

Greets

Impressive!. Hat of to people who can use a soldering iron!

I have had a few inssues with my Kleinulator. TUnwanted distortion was one of the problems. Sometimes the FET blows. sometimes it's an issue with the power chip. he newer models have some kind of safety built in.
Best get in touch with Nik.

I noticed my amp sounds terrible when I use hotter (humbucker) pickups.

It's hard to find a balance, but I lower the Clean volume a bit (this had an impact on the OD channel). Lowered my pickups as well. and I make sure my effects (in the loop) are on the right level.
Plus the amp sounds better when you play louder.
I feel it's all in the detail with these amps.
Kleuinulator helps to level out some of the harshness as well.

of course. I'd be glad to do a test!

Excelent stuff (although I must say the tainwrecks didn't do it for me)
Would you say the differences between Dumble and Ceriatone could also be related to the tubes used?
188  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: tube recommendations on: June 22, 2009, 04:21:05 PM
Pre amp?
I bought some Tube Amp Doctor 12AX7 tubes. those were a lot warmer then the regular JJ's (at least in my amp)
Cheers

I love the DC 30 for clean. How about a Super reverb?
190  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Dumblelator vs. Kleinulator on: May 26, 2009, 07:40:49 AM
Does this mean I need to do *umbleator? Smiley

It's already in the works, but too much stuff going on here currently.

The chassis is rack type, but made shorter so it'd fit at the bottom of the can (about 7" depth only or so).

Thanks!

Nik
Well I must confess I do think the "umble"does sound a bit better. It reacts to your playing a bit better as well. On the other hand it is a lot more expensive.
It would be great if you could build the unit. Some of us (me) are not so good with a soldering iron.
If you need a tester just let me know :-). Erwin and me could do a/b testing ;-)

not in the recording. I find the birght switch is nice for some special tones. But I feel it gets a bit nasty if you use it with OD.
192  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Dumblelator vs. Kleinulator on: May 25, 2009, 11:45:36 AM
The Klein is my only contribution (plus driving down to Erwin's place). The rest is all  Erwin

I found the Dumblelator to be more transparant, it has a bit more bite. The Klein seems a bit warmer.
Cheers

ah ok. I think my amps sounds very boxy when you hit the PAB switch.
When you put a 8ohm cab on a 4 ohm output tap, the clean PAB isn't boxy anymore.

Hi Erwin
can that damge anything? I have an 8 Ohm cab with 2 Celestion g12-65 speakers (16 ohm each)
194  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS gets "evil" when I engage PAB on: May 14, 2009, 07:48:30 AM
That 'on certain days"remark makes you wonder doesn't it. It sounds like these amps are alive  Huh?
