Wires wired in parallel will add some capaticance which help recreating that famous smooth D tone.

 Shocked Brian,

Are you going to leave those wires like that? Definitely not a standard D-style wiring on those preamp sockets... normally those wires would go against the chassis parallel to each other.

Are you sure about that Huh?... I always thought you're next door guy.

Well sometimes it feels like you are.

Thanks guys...
...I'm glad my thread is useful.
I learned a lot from forums (this one and others),... so I'm really glad I can give something back.

No ground loop issues with this box... after all there you have a transformer and a ground lift switch to take care of that.

Here's my box...

What you need is a cheap reamp box...
I have one of those... it's easy thing to do actually

174  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Beam blocker video demo on: November 20, 2010, 07:28:43 AM
Ika my man.... what kind of material did you use on that blocker. You said same high frequency absorbing acoustic foam... what is this exactly and were did you get it. I presume just a regular foam will not work like that.

Man, you're always inventing some stuff,... it's always fun to see what things you came up with.

175  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Any tube collectors' views on what vintage tubes for a stock HRM amp? on: November 19, 2010, 06:16:07 AM
Sorry not much experience with NOS tubes, except I have one EI tube, which sounds really good in my OTS. It sounds much clearer and brighter compared to Tung-Sol I'm using right now.

You're right about something...

we tend to be more civil here, compared to some of the other places I've been lately...

Like you said, these Champs are awesome amps but man I own 5 amps already... and I hate to sell this one but nowdays I rarely have any time to play any amp I have at home... I play my guitars at night when family is sleeping...
When I go out, I obviously take one of the bigger amps and this one is just sitting there... that's why I'm selling it.

...anyway thanks for the kind thoughts

178  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: The Robben Ford-quest; how close can I get on a "standard" OTS? on: November 17, 2010, 01:36:14 PM
have you tried the Gil Ayan mod on the OD channel, which will filter out the lowest frequencies and make the OD cleaner.
Its simply a 4,7n-47n capacitor with a 10m resistor at the input of the OD.

No I have not tried this one yet... perhaps I should.

Interesting how different we are... the perfect amp for me would be OTS clean and bluesmaser OD.  Wink

I like the mids in OTS clean... it makes a SC guitar sound bigger but it gets to muddy in OD... that's why I prefer bluesmaster OD. Much more clearer and string definition.

...I can't say if bluesmaster is what you seek... you need to try one out.

Guys you're making me want to mod my OTS...
