I hope I didn't give the impression that was me on the youtube clip. It's not.

I think you did  Wink

Nice fender crunchy SRV tones with a tough of Robben Ford. Nice!

OK...here's a tough question:  How do I get more 'bloom' from my amp?

I'm finding it a little stiff and would be curious as to what contributes to the overall bloomyness?

Thanks!
Sorry guys I don't get the lighter touch/pick thing etc.
Maybe, because you got a light touch already, judging by you sound clips  Cool

Play with a lighter touch and pick attack

OK thats reasonable, however I think I might look at having some trimmers accessible through the chassis using a screwdriver maybe.

Thats a great idea, check Fuchs web page for inspiration (scroll down to the mid page): http://www.fuchsaudiotechnology.com/products-cabaccessories.php

Wait till you see what else I've got planned. Cheesy Light up logo but not anywhere near as plasticky as Matchless.

I also thought that using pots instead of trimmers would be a brilliant idea.

On my amp the I have put the pots on the bottom o the chassis. They are mounted on a small piece of garolite and the connections to from this little board are as short as if you use the traditional trimmer board. So far so good.

However, after doint A LOT of tweaking i finally have the pots adjusted to the tone I like to hear from the amp and now I'm actually 'afraid' to touch the knobs and thereby changing the sound. Therefore, my advise would be to use trimmers instead. More pots will leave you with a complicated science project with a lot of oscillation.

However, a blue chassis sounds nice.

I forgot the question.... Have you an opinion about these 2 speaks ?
The Commonwealth is supposed to  have the JBL E120 tone, and the Delta Pro 12 supposed to be good to replace a EMV 12L.
thanks !

I thought the Emi Kappa Pro model was supposed to compete with the EV12L.

Anywain in my band we have a pair of DIY EV300sx (1x12 + horn) PA speakers. We used to have an EV12L in one and a Kappa Pro in the other, (before we retired these for a couple of Delta lites and saved 5kg per cabinet!!)

The EV and Kappa sounded exactly the same - great speaker, the kappa.

Its a descendant of the Fane Cressendo, one of which I owned back in the 80's. Almost same specs as the Studio 12L, but it had an alumium voice coil, that I found kind of harsch at the time, but It was great for clean sounds. It reminded me of the Altec that Carlos Santana use in his Boogie Combo.

Today I would be happy to use that particular speaker, only with some treble bleed/higher snubbers in my Dumble Clones.

The 12L don't have alumium voice coil and it probably sounds very close to an EV12L.

Hi Pickmaster,

Sounds great - what does your mod consist of? is it the one you've posted a your ago with increased snubber value(s)??

Hi Helmuth,

Looks like you're selling your Ceriatone and Fuchs amps, because you've bought a TwoRock.  Smiley

How would you compare the Fuchs and the Tworock to the ceriatone (which I take for granted that most forum members know already) three amps?

The suggested treble bleed mod, was been published on the ampgarage.com by forumites Ayan and Dogears (Scott Lerner). These guys know the ropes and I wouldn't publish this mod if it didn't work. I use it in my amp and it gives my amp great bloom on the notes.  Cool
