Ceriatone / Overtone / PIN voltages
|
on: January 21, 2009, 12:17:05 AM

Hello there!
Help me with opinions how important the pin voltage is..?
I measured slightly lower on V1 pin1 - cca 176V and a tad higher on V2 and V3 than some other members here (>200V on V2 and >300 on V3). Also pin 3 on both 6L6 is about 460-470V. I measured the input voltage also and it's 230V rather then standard 220V (the tap I am using on trafo). I biased the tubes to 36mV. Is there anything I should take care off, or just Shut Up And Play My Guitar
Thanks!

Interesting..., here's an article from "General Guitar Gadgets":
________________________________
Again, Audio taper is the same thing as Log taper. The two terms are interchangable.
The taper of a pot is designated with a letter stamped onto the back (or side, or front) of most pots. WARNING: the "A" & "B" designations are not the same worldwide! The designations that I know of are these:
In USA
* A - Audio or Log taper * B - Linear taper * C - Reverse Log taper * G - Graphic taper
In Europe
* A - Linear taper * B - Audio or Log taper * C - Reverse Log taper * G - Graphic taper

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Footswitch for Overtone

Hey, am I missing something?
I received my Overtone kit few weeks ago (fully unassembled) but there is no footswitch included. I checked the Ceriatone site, and yes, there's footswitch included with every kit option. Is that something recently added? Can I order footswitch extra? I better contact Nik, then..
Thanks

It looks like this amp is useful even on bedroom levels then? Without power brake or attenuation? Ooops, sorry I am using this thread for comments and not for sharing settings.. will stop now

Hey YOGA64, good news for me then - I have the same cheap 1x12 cabinet. I am very happy you found this combination so satisfying. But I didn't assemble my Overtone yet so when it's done I'll share my experience. Really, this cabinet looks rather good considering the money!

Ceriatone / Overtone / Overtone biasing

Hi everyone!
I am new here so big hello to growing Ceriatone forum! Right in the middle of assembling my Overtone, inhaling solder fumes, here's the question:
How do you bias the output tubes, what values do we looking for?
Thanks,
Fred
