Hi Tom, nice tone, nice cab, nice axe!

Nice touch on the Christmas tune but I'm starting to overdose on that so I prefer your first vid!

Cheers

Oops! My bad!

Corrected. It's lead now. Thanks for letting me know.

Those lead clips have too much gain, I use less now.
And they are with PAB on BTW.

I just uploaded some speaker comparison clips http://ceriatoneforum.com/index.php?topic=29.msg14149#msg14149.

It's a non HRM OTS and it doesn't cover the speakers mentionned here but it might be of interest.

Cheers Fabien

Hi everybody,

I'm new on this forum though I've been reading and following it a lot this last year. I bought an OTS 50 last april, 2nd hand from a friend and I'm extremely happy with it.

Instead of posting yet just another clip of my OTS, I thought it could be interesting to post comparison clips of some speakers so here they are.

Amp is an OTS 50W from mid 2008 built by Ceriatone so I guess it's the current layout.
Cab is a Carvin Legacy 2x12 with at first an Emi Swamp Thang and a Celestion G12-65, then I replaced the G12 with an Emi Tonker.
Recording is done in Cubase through a Sennheiser E606 on the speaker grill for individual speakers and an MXL 2006 at about 1 meter for the 2 cab clips.
Guitar is a Suhr Pro S1, all clean clips on the neck sc pup and lead clips on bridge hb.
There is a TC G-Major 2 in  the loop with reverb and delay.
No 'post-production' processing except normalizing.
'on axis' means centered straight on the voice cone, 'off axis' means an angle of 45 degrees directed at the voice cone.
Settings on the amp are: vol on 6/7, treb on 7, mids and bass on 4 and presence on 7/8 (pab is off). Playing volume is fair, close to rehearshal volume but not quite.
I play more or less the same thing on those clips so comparison is easier.

Here are some lead clips recorded a while ago with the E606.

Sorry no clip of the Tonker but it sounds pretty close to the Swamp Thang with a bit mor mids

Hope you enjoy.
Hope it might help to select a speaker too.

I like those Eminence speaker, very punchy and bloody loud!

Anyway thanks everybody for all the tips and threads. It's of course all your fault if I bought one of those! But I can't blame you!

Cheers Fabien
