Ceriatone / Overtone / Modding an OTS 50 to HRM?
|
on: November 15, 2011, 09:31:49 AM
|
Hei all you modding-specialists out there!
I am owning a very nice OTS 50, and my question is: Is it possible to mod the OTS with an EQ in the overdrive-channel? When possible, how could this be done? It's because I would have a distortion sound with a bit more midrange, and less upper range. Thanks!

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: RG 400 Cables

Guys, I'm not quite shure if the RG 400 is the right cable for your guitars. The RG 400 is especially designed for high frequency applications, don't kow if this is the right one for "low" frequencies...

Nik, I absolutely agree what Larry wrote in this forum. Larry is a very competent and well known amp-specialist here in germany. Layouts: I would take them off your site. Maybe you can put them on a extra site, which is password protected? Password only for customers? Could be a solution... I really can understand you - but never mind. Some people hear the sound of different mojo caps or voodoo resistors, but haven't already recognized that guitars have 6 strings. You understand?!

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Buffered fx loop - Which one to get?

I think the C-Lator is the one to get! Question to the pro's here (don't want to start a new thread): I've got an C-Lator here (was a kit). I'm using it with my OTS 50, an it sounds awesome! Really! But I have got a bit more hum than I had with the Kleinulator. Does everyone know what this could be?
Thanks!

Thanks, spm!
Sounds great, nice playing. But I think I'll stay with my OTS 50. Think it's more versatile for me than an FM. Changed some things to make it warmer an creamier: First I changed the Powertubes to 6L6 WGC (plenty more warmth) and biased it with 32 mV. And I use a Clator.

You could mod your OTS 50 to an FM 50 very easily, there are only a few component tweaks.
Can you explain which parts this are? For dummies? Thanx

A few components were changed from the original FM to make it less bright! Modern eagle will be just a hair darker than the regular FM Couple caps and a couple resistors! Thats all
Todd
Less bright is good. I would use this amp with a 2x12" box, loaded with evm 12l's. Where is the switch for the negative feedback, inside? How does switch change the tone? Thanks! Regards from germany, Achim

Ceriatone / Overtone / Noise and buzz
|
on: October 01, 2010, 10:50:08 AM
|
Hi everyone, I'm quite new here, and first of all I got a question, hope you can help I just bought a used Overtone 50W (non hrm), and I must say I'm really happy with the tone the amp makes! I'm using also a kleinulator in the FX-Loop. My problem now is: The amp is really noisy and buzzy, especially in the overdrive-mode. It's really loud! It has nothing to do with the kleinulator. The noise is quite there when I plugged off the kleinulator from the amp. Could anyone help please? Thanks and regards from germany! Achim
