Do you reckon this would get you more into the Bluesy SRV John Mayer type of clean tone? More like a Super Reverb or a vibroverb? I always feel the clean channel lacks a bit of that woody type of thing.
This clip is a with a bit of overdrive but you'll get my drift:

wihout sacrificing the nice OD? whcih the OTS surely has

I have a regular OTS as well. Lately I have been falling in love with the bluesmaster. Is it hard to do the tweaks you mention? I thougt it was quite a big thing
Why didn't you order a Bluesmaster to begin with?
123  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Used Ceriatone OTS - how to tell if it was built by Ceriatone? on: January 13, 2010, 09:21:50 AM
as an example. This one was built by Ceriatone:

Your Bluesmaster sound awesome. Love the Lelsie clips as well.
I guess the OTS has more of that Robben Ford vibe while the bluesmaster is more a SRV type of sound.
My OTS doens't have those cleans that's for sure
GREAT clips!!

La Hollande. And he's a great guy!
127  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Presence=more attack? on: January 06, 2010, 02:42:09 PM
You need a 15p-40p bright cap on you master volume. Scott Lerner (Dogears) have made many opsts regarding this on ampgarage.

Erwin tried that with my amp. I felt it had a different tonal impact then adding more presence.
Maybe I sould try the push pull thing you suggested.
128  Ceriatone / Overtone / Presence=more attack? on: January 06, 2010, 02:03:57 PM
Hi guys
In an earlier topic I discussed how adding more Presence (Cool gives a brighter sound which I like (or my OTS with d-lator) needs. It seems presence adds some top end which doesn't add treble to the guitar sound, but it takes away the "blanket".
I  was wondeing iof adding more Presence also adds more attack/punch? It seems so, but this can also be the result of a change in tone colour.

The thing is is I like the brighter sound (less dark and more transparant), but I would prefer less attack.

I'm not to keen on using the bright switch. It also adds more brightness, but I feel it makes the lowe end thinner.
what do you think?

A bright cap(47 pF or bigger) on the amp's master does help to get the highs back without fuzzing the lead sound.

Would that be an idea for me as well?
my lay out is this

Hi Steven,

You didn't like a bigger bright cap, it was too bright for your likings.

Embarrassed this wil,l go in the top 10 of stupid questions. Sorry about that Erwin. To much champagne probably.

Hi
I have thought about this. My reverb has an internal mixer so the dry signal stays analog.
Nonetheless series operation would be even better I think. But what happens when you use a chorus? For an optimal chorus sound the whole signal should pass through it right? besides some people think the fx loop makes the sound of the amp nicer.

What are your views?

12ax7 or 6L6?
133  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best Spring Reverb Pedal for Loop in OTS on: December 03, 2009, 03:24:46 PM
how about:
http://www.leejackson.com/MrSpringgy_pedal.html

I don't know if the spring thing is a major issue but I'd go for the Fuchs Reverbrator. it's atube fx loop and (digital) reverb in one.
Cheers
Steven

No not from Europe. from Bludotone. Brandon was kind enough to ship one to me.
No idea how I'm, going to get it in though LOL. ........Erwin HELP!!!!  Grin

You mean how to get it in your amp? Just call me Cheesy

I will :-)

@ blues. I think I do not need to pay VAT if the total packge is less then $100. Couldn't find a Heyboer OT in Europe. besides I wouldn't know which one to order. I read some post on the ampgarage and I thought what the heck I'll just ask Bludo to ship me an OT and I'll worry about the rest later.

I feel I need to post a clip with my setup but I'm a bit shy ;-)
and I need to find the time.
