I am using SED 6l6's
Then why did you not let Nik set it up with tubes he supplies? Have you tried swapping v2 around? Have you balanced the PI? What about the OD trimmer? You sort of imply that Nik has left you high and dry, but I'd put it to you that Nik suggested you take it to a tech to have it biased and checked over, not to sort out any possible problem with the amp. Nik is a good guy, give him a chance, but he is right, take it to a tech. If you really want to use your own tubes then you should take responsibility for that decision.

hired hand, yes I can produce these in numbers (my day job is working with glass), but I wanted to test out the lighting first. I prefer the look of the yellow/red logo, where you can see straight through the glass to the amp innerds, but on the plexi the transformer got in the way so I had to obscure the view.
The lighting is problematic at the moment and I haven't had much time to perfect it. I have 3.4volts DC from the 0-5v rectifier filament tap on the transformer. Unfortunately this was not enough to drive the 10mm diffused LEDs I had, so currently I have three clear 10mm high brightness LED's mounted individually on the underside of the shell and positioned to illuminate all of the logo, they have to be spaced out since the transformer casts a shadow otherwise. These are quite a shallow beam angle hence the need for 3, I need some wide angle, with a very bright light so that I can get away with only one. It works but its not a perfect solution.

Its taken me a while, mostly due to trying to find different colours of tolex that would sit together happily. Black/purple levant, blue elephant grain and black is what I used in the end.
Still got to sort out the lighting inside the shell to illuminate the logo as the diffuse white LED's are not giving off enough light when supplied with 3.4v (I rectified the unused 0-5v valve rectifier heater tap on the PT) I either need more voltage or different LED's. The transformer sits behind the logo obscuring half of it which is a shame. It wasn't an option to move it though.
The faceplate really needs remaking as the amp now has powerscaling (the knob thats in the standby hole and a PPIMV in the indicator hole )
It has a dual colour LED power indicator Red for standby and blue for ON.

Any advise on a brand? George L's are a bit stiff. I use them to connect my rack gear to the D'lator. but for connecting the D'lator to my amp I would prefer something a bit more flexibel. 60cm would be long enough.
Cheers guys
Steven
I've found George L's to be unreliable. I used to use Klotz La Grange, quite low pF/m. Now use Van Damme as its more flexible.

Timd, have you got a wide neck on that strat or is it an illusion?
I've been playing with Warmoth Superwide necks for a while now and love them, I've got very big hands, well long fingers really and find 43mm nuts a bit constricting, 41mm tele nuts are impossible for me.

I know what you're saying, but I do use my amp in two distinctly different ways. With a set of single coils I run it with very low OD level, trimmer at 9:00 to get a 'pushed' clean sound. For this I want less mids and more top end. With a H/B I like to get the classic Dumble OD sound so the trimmer goes up to 9:30-10:00 and the level also higher. For this I want to roll off the top end quite a lot and boost the mids.
The issue of noise is not likely to be a problem I think. The cable runs to the pots are shorter than for the clean side tone stack, and could be even shorter by moving the HRM board.
