I have just ordered a small cab with a G12M Greenback.

I am curious what it will sound like. I'll post some clips in 3 weeks when it should arrive.

Jack, Nice tone!

However, I would need to carefully A/B it with your previous clips to understand the difference. Also, it sounds like you are mixing in the delays differently than before?

Mine is a January model, I wonder which version is it? Huh?

I'm dialing in some really nice tones now with my strats and tele's and the G12-65.

Its really equalized well for the way I play and pick.

YMMV of course but I can't really see any disadvantage to having some sort of control  & separate EQ on the Overdrive Channel side of the amp.

I hear you, but I don't think that you get that with an HRM either which still has a single EQ stack for both channels.

I was just listening to Larry Carlton's "Last Nite".

That was all non-HRM.

Us guitarist are awful customers to please.

If the Overtone was an HRM clone, I bet there would posts all over the board saying:

"NIK, WHEN ARE YOU COMING OUT WITH A NON-HRM VERSION (THE ORIGINAL DUMBLE CIRCUIT)??" Cheesy

I wonder if this would work as a buffer/blender?

I was checking out the Radial Mix some time ago, but I couldn't figure out whether it could be used in the loop and it says:

Q: Can I use the MIX in between my amp’s send and return loop on the back of the head?
A: Yes! Just keep in mind that this should be a guitar level send and return which most amps will be equipped with. Check the amp’s owner’s manual to be sure.

Do you think its ok for the Overtone?

thanks

does the EVM have a smooth, pronounced midrange and rolled off high?
129  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Just ordered my Overtone. on: April 18, 2008, 08:07:03 PM
The complete amps (with cab) take longer to make. I think its because Niks cab man can't more than a certain number each week.

Yeah, every one is talking well about the EV as a high powered professional speaker (200W, nice cleans, headroom, etc....).

I'm not sure that I need that. Lets face it: I am a home player now.

Even the G12-65 is quite powerful for a home studio environment and I am actually planning to put it in a iso-cab. I find that it is well EQ-ed for me even at low volumes. Does the EV need to be cranked to sound good?

I'm wondering if the EV can be of interest to me if needs to be a concert-stage volume level?

Am wrong/right/saying BS?

131  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Is there reverb on the Overtone? If not what do you suggest? on: April 18, 2008, 04:10:15 PM
There is no reverb on the Overtone.  I use a TC Electronic G Major in the effects loop for reverb and delay.  I'm happy with this - it seems transparent and has a true bypass.

thats interesting. I was looking at the G-major as all-in-one unit.

Do you have a volume drop when you insert it in the loop?

If yes, can you offset the volume drop with an output control of the G-major?

thanks

I'm really liking the G12-65 speaker, but I have  never tried a EVM-12L.

Can someone explain the difference between the two to me?

thanks

great clips Jack! Here's a short jam I did with my Tele after a good sunday lunch and some fine Barbaresco wine. Notice the wine glass on the Overtone: I managed to break it after the recording by reaching for the standby switch! Cheesy

Nice tones and playing Mitch.

That Zen-thing is really something! Smiley I think that you will like your Overtone.

The pedal sounds good i.e. I can't tell that you are using one (i.e its transparent)!

Can you do another clip with say a 350-400ms delay? Thanks!
