My amp is an ODS 50 watt.   I have a 10 tone tubby hemp cone used in combo with an old celestian G35 10 and they sound awesome.   If I want more bottom I also used an old cube Mesa 12 inch cab with a 100 watt celestian.   I have tried eminence, and weber svt, all tone 12, and on and on.   I really like the tone of the tone tubby and the speaker distortion I can get with the celestian at lower volumes.  I especially like the weight factor in my combo

4  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How do you handle humbuckers with the OTS on: March 31, 2009, 02:54:24 AM
i too have burstbuckers and my amp is set as follow:
      vol    5
     treb   5
      mid   2
    bass   5
    OD      5
    blend  6
    mastr  2
     pres   6
If I turn my amp up to 5 i will get thrown out of my band.  Even at 2 I have to control the volumn with the U lator

Does anyone know the status of the 5 watt OD that Nik was talking about making?
6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best speaker?` on: March 27, 2009, 07:49:50 PM
I have a 10'' Tonetubby Alnico it is the most defining speakers I have used.  I also have a Weber VST 10" which is a close 2nd.  I use both in the same speaker cab combo.  I think I'm the only guy on this site to use 10'' speakers

I think I am the only guy in the forum using the BIG 10s.  I posted my rig in the completed amp section and I use a Weber STV and a tone tubby alnico.  The punch is phenomenal.  I also have 1x12 celestion in a closed back cab but have not found much need to use it.   I like compactability for gigging and the combo is preferable to me.  Good luck
8  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: a little info on the Klein-ulator needed here..... on: December 18, 2008, 01:17:08 AM
Sorry all still can't figure out how to send attachments on this forum.  I will send a photo when I can find a more computer literate to help.  What I did was take a piece of 1/2 in ply and cut it the same size as your top.    Then notch out room for the handle and get some carpeted feet for the ply and set it on the amp.  velcro the pedals including the Ulator on the ply.  Works great but the only problem I've encountered is trying to find a case for the darn thing.

I will post a pic as soon as my camera is charged.
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 1/2 power mod on a 50watt OTS ? on: December 09, 2008, 06:58:59 PM

I had Nik do that mod to my 50 watt ODS,  it cuts alot of the tone out.   have you thought about putting a speaker in a box with a mic?   I've seen things like that adverised but never have used one
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: a little info on the Klein-ulator needed here..... on: December 08, 2008, 07:45:29 PM
I used a piece of plywood with velcro it seems to work well.   I also have my pedals on the board too.
It seems to fix the issue.
12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Ringing preamp tubes on: November 30, 2008, 12:06:13 AM
I have been experiencing some preamp tube/can ringing.  It seems only certain notes (C,A) on certain settings (overdrive), generate a certain frequency that makes the  tubes sing.   Has anyone else experienced these sounds and how did you correct the problem.  I've tried taking the covers off  (Worse) and also tightening the springs (No change).   I've seen that fender has a shock mount they install on the 57 Twin and was wondering if anyone else has tried to address this problem.

HERE'S BOBBY
I'm sending in my pics of my new unaltered ODS Special.  I had the cab built by JEff Swanson at swansoncabinet.com.  He did an excellent job per my request that the combo look similar to my 65 deluxe reverb.  I would highly recomend Swanson Cabs.  I would also highly recommend 2x10s.  I currently have a weber VST and a rajun cajun that I plan on replacing with a new tone tubby alnico 10.  Once I have installed the tubby I will send some sound clips.  While this amp may be heavier that a 1x12 the lowend benefit and the screming highs amke it well worth the workout.

I just received a 2x10 cabinet made by Swanson Cabinets in Mass.   It is an awesome combo amp and I use a weber svt and rajun cajun speakers.   There is also a good discussion on the subject "speakers" in this forum.  Good Luck

Does anyone have a preference with a 12" tonetubby in a closed or open back cab?
