Cool Esquire Gregg!
Personally, I like the heavier bodies on the Tele's, gives them a bit more
sustain while keeping some of that resonance
Same deal with Strats, but they lose more of that natural resonance
My favourite Tele is fairly heavy

Hey hurtwoodec, that's a cool pic!
I think the OTS is the most handsome of the heads heh
Just wondering if you tried the OTS through the Elmwood cab
Just curious 'cos there's one for sale over here and I need a cab
They look well made
3  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Finally done on: May 21, 2013, 03:22:41 AM
Very cool! I love that look
I also need a matching cab for my burgundy HRM 50
I need something a similar size but I'm thinking four 10's
I'll have to source a cab in Australia though

No more amp GAS for me either, the HRM is awesome
I was even getting authentic AC/DC tones today, outta my Tele!
4  Tw Clones / Rock It! / Re: How many watts? on: May 06, 2013, 07:09:53 PM
Hoy Toppscore!
Funny, I was just reading your post about your painted Fender Reverb on the other thread
(I also had a brown Fender Reverb painted black years ago heh)

Anyway, I was just investigating the TW's 'cos I don't know much about them
I wanted to get something different to complement my other amps
I've got an Overtone HRM and a BF Super Reverb so I figure a TW Rockit or
36 watt Marshall might be a bit different tone-wise
I should check out more demo's I suppose
I thought the Machine Gun demo on the TW site sounded pretty cool
Fairly authentic to the Band of Gypsies sound
5  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Possible HRM to Bluesmaster conversion? on: March 31, 2013, 11:46:54 PM
Yeah Gyp that was a score for some lucky dude!
I woulda jumped if I hadn't have bought my HRM (50W) 3 weeks ago (now I'm broke heh)
I didn't realise that 100 watter was HRM though...thought it was a regular Overtone

Hello Link!....are you ready to Rumble?
How do those lipsticks sound thru the Bluesmaster?
7  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone Soundclips on: March 18, 2013, 10:24:13 AM
Cool clip, Lefty...nice playin'!
My 50watt HRM arrived today, but no cab yet heh...pretty frustrating
8  Community / Gear / Re: NGD: Gibson Les Paul 1970's Tribute Satin Gold Top on: July 12, 2012, 03:03:22 PM
Nice score Gregg!
I always wanted a goldtop with mini's, I love that sound
I was in a band with a guy who had one (early 70's model)
It sounded great through a stock Twin Reverb
Enjoy!

I'd be interested in the chassis if it's got a 240V switch (I'm in Australia)
The freight might make it too expensive though but I've got a cab waiting for one of them
10  Ceriatone / SSS / Re: SSS - indication of interest on: April 26, 2012, 04:09:23 AM
I had an early 2000s Super Reverb RI in my workshop for a friend at the same time as my SSS for a little while and it did have some "similarities".  The speaker cabs used for the SSS were different and I think the 4x10s on the SR give it a unique sound.  It wasn't a fair comparison but it was a lot more similar to the SSS cleans than my '68 BF Twin Reverb or my '76 Bandmaster Reverb head.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info sonicmojo...I thought it might have similar cleans
Also, I'd like to use EV's or similar...and it's ridiculous to put EV's in the Super Reverb
(I doubt SRV ever carried his EV loaded Super..heh)
At least with the SSS I could use a 2X12 and it would be more managable for this ol' squatch
11  Ceriatone / SSS / Re: SSS - indication of interest on: April 23, 2012, 12:22:58 AM
I'd miss the tremelo on the Fender, but I can use a pedal I suppose
I'm sure the SSS would make the Super Reverb redundant and would be an easier lug
SSS for big cleans and the Tweed Twin for dirt should be a good combination
Plus I could use the SSS for the occasional bass gig, even if it's not voiced for bass
12  Ceriatone / SSS / Re: SSS - indication of interest on: April 22, 2012, 11:23:47 AM
Might be time to sell my BF Super Reverb and upgrade
I'm sure the SSS could double as a bass amp for my purposes with the right cab
13  Ceriatone / SSS / Re: SSS - indication of interest on: April 21, 2012, 12:55:58 AM
Cool manual. Just a few questions though,
was wondering if the FET input would be usable for piezo acoustic input,
or is it tweaked to respond better to mag pickups?
Also curious as to how it would sound as a bass amp
If it can do bass and acoustic as well it would be an awesome all-in-one amp
I suppose with a few minor mods it could do practically anything
14  British Style / JTM 45, 50 / Re: Using a JTM45 at low/high volume on: April 11, 2012, 05:49:41 AM
I'm pretty sure AC/DC were using WASP amps on the first few albums
WASP were an Australian Marshall copy, most of the bands back then used them
'cos they were cheaper (and possibly more reliable) than the Marshall
Any Marshall copy will do the trick, but I agree that an 18 watter from Nik would be best
15  Ceriatone / SSS / Re: SSS - indication of interest on: March 27, 2012, 12:07:24 AM
What a great looking amp!
Sounds awesome too...Wan was getting a nice SRV tone on that second last clip
Good stuff! Keep up the good work!
