1  British Style / JCM 800 2203, 2204, 2550, 2555 / Magnetic componets 18023 PT in AFD 35 help needed on: August 26, 2012, 06:22:58 PM
Hey Guys just finished wiring my MC trannys in a AFD 35 amp and on power up the PT starting smoking, should the 325V and 6.3v center taps both be grounded ? After I removed them from ground no smoke but no sound either. Iam running the relay off the 6.3v and that part is working fine, also Iam assuming having them grounded (if they both are suppose to be) at the same spot is fine, any ideals, do I have a bad PT (they were all new),thanks

Hey guys just finished a 50 watt OTS S&M sounds fantastic as usual and everything is working great. But my plate voltage is around 490,I am using magnetic trannys and have TAD 6l6gc-STR's for power and all jj's for the pre is this alright? As mentioned everything's working/sounding fine the bias is set at around 38 MA any thought's,thanks

7  Ceriatone / Overtone / Plate voltage and bias on a OTS FM MEM 50 watter on: March 29, 2012, 12:10:48 AM
Well since there aren't many post's I thought I would throw one in,I recently accuried my new OTS FM MEM 50 watter, and am loving it Cool . I'am using a new set of matched TAD's and according to the Weber (iam assuming I can use that name here?) bias calculator, The bias should be at around 44.5 mA (hot) . My plate voltage is around 460 does this sound about right,Iam getting the blue glow from the tubes with this setting, but from what I read this is normal? The amp is sounding better day by day,and everything works as it should,I just thought I would throw in a post.Feel free to chime in with any opinions, thanks

Kool, thank you sir. What do you think of the magnetic component stuff?
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / 6 volt tap on different tranny's on: March 08, 2012, 08:53:24 PM
Hey guy's,I got my new OTS FM MEM 50 watt coming soon but without the trannys, Ive been searching around and all of the other PT's seem to have a 5 volt tap as opposed to a 6volt. Will the 5 volt work,or should I run it off the heater wiring (6.3) ? I prefer to use Hammond's for this any recommendations, thanks again
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / C-lator? on: March 08, 2012, 01:49:32 AM
Hey Guys got a OTS FM MEM on its way,and was wondering about the clator,I have searched but really didn't find my answer, I guess. Iam not a big effects user and it sounds like this is the main purpose for the clator,so if not really using effects is it worth having,as it sounds some what like you can use it as a attenuator? But I do have a weber mass,so will that basically do the same thing, minus the choice of running effects threw it? ,thanks in advance.

Very nice build, great sound as well. Its funny how little components it appears to have on the board for such a great sounding amp.

14  Muchless / DC 30 / HOT HOT HOT on: October 02, 2011, 11:17:32 PM
Hi all, just enjoying my newly finished dz30 for about a couple weeks now,and just curious on how hot these amps normally get? Mine gets to the point where the speaker/phase switch is almost to hot to keep your fingers on. Is this normal?
15  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: Red plating? on: September 14, 2011, 12:20:29 PM
Yep that was it,the switch was wired wrong (I must have missed the chassis bottom) but that took care of it. I also rewired the speaker phase switch. Man what a great sounding amp,and I dont even have a matching set of power tubes in  it yet! Wyatt, thanks for all your help    Chair Dance
