I had to make mine sit in a corner for an hour in time out... I said I'd turn it back on when it had a better attitude.

Remember that you're still going to want to re-bias with the new tubes...

Wonderful playing, and of course, great tone!  Your other guitar player is no slouch either! Both his solos were really awesome!

I can't imagine an amp I wouldn't want to modify!!! LOL

Hey Mcinku - Who did you have build your head cabinet?
6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Pics of completed Overtones on: April 07, 2011, 04:20:08 PM
That's regular Fender "wheat" grill cloth... also called "wheat brown stripe", as opposed to "wheat gold stripe".
Looks great, and would match half of my amps!1 Wink
Here's a link to that cloth:  http://www.mathercab.com/wheat_bs_1.htm

Freakin' 15 or 16 year old Bonamassa was just awesome!!

Doesn't sound like "strike 3" to me.... Sounds more like "3 time's the charm... and the first two were just as charming."

Cheesy

I don't have an answer for you, sorry...
But I was wondering if your screen name might be followed by "and a pina colada, my friend"?

11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Bias point for EL34's on: February 07, 2011, 06:31:57 PM
Sorry, your power transformer is made for 6L6 not EL34 and will not handle the additional current needed for those filaments......

Is anyone using EL34's in there Bluesmaster or HRM? If so what mA are you setting the bias for? I'm using Winged C (SED) 6CA7's.

That's a classic Internet misinformation statement...  If you use the Merc trannies spec'd by Nik, and I understand that he specs 2 different trannies depending on whether you intend to use 6L6 or EL34, either set will handle either power tube. The Mercs are built like tanks and have power to spare.

Nevermind... I found a spot in one of the videos that shows JJ EL-34L tubes.

I WAS going to go with an HRM version, but this sounds so great that I may have to rethink that!

Did you order with any "extra" mods from Nik??
13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 183 on: February 03, 2011, 04:59:21 PM
Really nice job showing what the tone controls can do on the clean channel! Wonderful tone all around. But I did notice that the volume level seemed to drop off quite a lot when you flipped the Jazz switch??? That seemed too much of a drop to me.

So I've seen that it's 100W, but what kind of power tubes?
14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 183 on: January 24, 2011, 04:49:38 PM
So is this a 100W version with EL-34 power tubes?
Any other mods??
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: EVM12L + another speaker on: January 18, 2011, 05:03:38 PM
I've never found EV's to be bright at all!
I've used them in all my Mesa Boogie amps, and a Fender or two.... They are the most neutral speaker I've ever used. Now JBL's.... THOSE can be a bit bright in general...
