Follow the advice of Nik, the builder. It's really important.

Clean or OD channel?

OD channel has three internal (post-OD) trimmers that you can adjust (bass, mid, treb). That's what I did for my OD channel to get more high end for the OD.

Also, this is such a great amp that choice of speakers plays a big role as well. (I use Weber speakers... A) 2x12 cab and a 1x15 cab or B) 4x10 cab and 2x12 cab). Using the 4x10 cab is brighter, chimier speaker configuration for me.

For single coils using clean channel, try rolling off the guitar volume... I rarely have my guitar volume higher than 8 with my single coils. Lower the neck and middle pickups on my strat. For tele... bridge pickup is high, neck pickup is low.

My current settings for single coil...
Vol: 3-4
Master 3-4
Treb: 6
Mid: 6
Bass:3
Bright switch engaged
Presence: 8-9
I only use the PAB footswitch when I need a volume boost for clean channel.

Use NOS preamp tubes... JJ's for Power tubes.

We are busy playing our Ceriatone amps

Congrats on the purchase. After two years, this is still my fav amp of all time, play thru it at every gig. Take your time and experiment with all the settings. Plenty of sweet spots in there.

Lessons learned so far:
- Find tubes and speakers that work for you. Makes a big difference with quality tubes and speakers
- For strat and tele, I only use the amps clean channel with some pedals.
- Adjust internal trimmers for OD channel until you are happy with OD. I needed to turn bass trimmer almost all the way down. Takes time and be careful in there.
- For les paul, usually use OD channel with PAB always on, sometimes clean channel with drive pedals to change the les paul sound between songs.
- Had the 50/100 switch installed. Its' never in 50W mode anymore. The 100W clean is just too wonderful and  pedals easily add whatever grit it needs.
- The volume controls on your guitar really come into play with this amp (esp single coils). Experiment with adjusting guitar's volume control and pick attack. You will like the dynamics.

Had the 100W BM for over two years now. Gig with it a lot. the clean channel is HUGE sounding. I get lots of compliments on it. I use two cabs (15" weber California and 2x12" webers vintage ceramics). Sometimes I kick in Fulltone boosts (Fulldrive II and OCD) for some extra special sauce on the tone on the clean channel. I use the overdrive channel for some songs with my les paul.

Nik installed the 50/100 switch and I played around with it a lot. But now it stays on 100W. Slightly more clean headroom to my ears, takes boost pedals so well. But if it only had 50W I'd still love it.

Really great, dynamic amplifier. Get good tubes and good speakers. So glad I bought it and I won't be selling it.

That's pretty much how I set mine up as well. Great strat and tele sound. When I play my lespaul through it, I use boost pedals in front of the amp with it and adjusted the tone/volume knobs on the pedal to taste. Also have a 10-band EQ pedal setup when using the lespaul. That way when swapping guitars at a gig, I don't have to change the amp settings.

I set up the amp for gigs using the strat and tele. The pedals take care of the lespaul.

I have the 100W version, however.

100W BM. Clean mode with a strat / tele, I run the bass down to 4. Clean mode with the Les Paul, I run the bass down to 2. Fulltone Fulldrive II (comp cut) and Fulltone OCD pedals in front of amp as well for some extra gain in clean mode on occasion.

OD I only use with the Les Paul and keep the bass at 2. Internal bass trim turned down as well. Don't forget to set these internal trims for good OD tone.

OTS HRM BM 100 Watt. I use a Fulltone Fulldrive II (Comp cut mode) in front of the amp for the extra kick in clean or OD mode. I don't use the PAB switch in clean mode at all. I have PAB on always for OD mode. This amp takes pedals so well.

This amp is fantastic but it does take a while to dial in the live sound; esp. given each venue is a bit different. Good sound check with the whole band at volume is critical to dial it in.

I have a Ceriatone OTS HRM BM 100 watt. Has been working fantastic for quite some time. Yesterday I noticed the foot switch Green LED is not working. The switch seems to be fine, it is engaging and disengaging the PAB each time, but the light never comes on anymore.

Is it simply a bad LED? If so, how to replace it?

Or is it the LED signal coming from the amp that is not working?

Any help is much appreciated.

Ok, So I have owned the HRM BM 100W for almost a year now. Played many gigs with it (indoor and outdoor). I use two cabs with it (2x12 with Webers) and (4x10 with Webers). This amp is really an amazing creature. I play in a cover band (70s rock and blues) and I use a strat and a les paul for gigs.

The strat with the clean amp settings is really a fantastic sound (with PAB on). Roll the guitar volume down for some real nice chime, the string clarity is amazing with this amp. Push the guitar volume a little higher for some growl. Also use fulltone OCD and FDII pedals with the streat thru the clean amp and get some real nice tones as well. Could not be happier. Use a WET reverb pedal as well in the effects loop.

The les paul with the OD channel engaged has taken much more time to dial in (after breaking in the amp). But is well worth the effort. Tube swaps were needed to get where I wanted to be. The bloom and the overdive dynamics are so very very nice and controllable. Again, guitar volume control plays a role here. The LP when you roll down the volume is a great rythm sound, full and clear with great string separation. Crank the guitar to 9-10 and the fun really starts for solos. Also I engage the PAB for solos, always. A few songs I play the LP thru the clean channel and use the fulltone OCD or Plimsoul for some different overdrive sounds. This takes good pedals very well in the clean channel and can find some wonderful sustain and bloom thru it as well.

Indoors I set it to 50W, outdoors always 100W.

This is truly a keeper amplifier. With the right tubes, speakers and guitars its amazing and I get alot of compliments on the tones. Been wondering if I should put Mercury Mag transformers in this, but that's much farther down the road.

Why did you let go of the BM and what is your new amp?

My Les Paul has Seymour Duncan's that I coil split. The neck pup in single coil mode is quite nice in OD mode on this amp. I use that position a lot for certain solos that need some extra thickness and still keep the chime (e.g. Europa). But even in single coil mode, the LP is way to bassy with this amp for the low E string and A string. otherwise it is fine for other strings/frets. In fact, it has quite a nice tone with the other strings at any fret.

My strat thru clean is fantastic.

The Les Paul was way too bassy in OD mode on the neck pup position. First thing I did was lower the pickup height of the neck pup (the low E string side) on the Les Paul which helped alot, to my surprise. So I have held off on adjusting the internal bass OD trim, but I will soon. Also my 2x12 cab was closed in back, so I took out one of the back panels which helped as well.
