Allo Allo!

I'm new, and have a question.

I have had a Ceriatone Superlead 100 for over 2 years now.  I must say, it's my favorite amp that I have owned over my past 15 years of playing.  I'm not a real technical chap, but I have noticed a problem with jumpering the 2 channels together.  My bright channel (which I can't use) spits out more treble than I can tame with the controls.  I desire the versatility of being able to use the 2 channels, both jumpered, and not jumpered....... Should I have a treble cap cut out, or replaced by a tech?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Thanks

I would say you are starting in the right place. Remove (un-solder, cut) that cap off the bright volume pot, and see how that sounds. You could also take a look at the "bass lead layout" and take note of the different component values. These amps are well laid out and easy to work on. No real need for a tech unless you do not have a soldering iron, small amount of electronics knowledge. Do you know how to check/drain the caps?

I've been looking up how to drain the electricity out of an amp.  I have basic electronic skills with building effects pedals, but I have stayed away from anything that plugs into a wall in fear of shocking myself silly.

Thanks
