Title: New Ceriatone Logo (Revive a Thread)
Post by: IndySouthPaw on January 11, 2012, 05:24:42 AM
I just ran in to this old thread and HAD to join the forum just to reply and bring this to everyone's attention.  This guy is on to something.  The only competitors for Ceriatone charge a ton of money because they have recognizable brands, familiar logos, etc.  This is by far the most attractive logo I have seen for an amp manufacturer/builder.  A top notch logo/symbol attached to Nik's craftsmanship would be a winning combination that could afford Nik to charge more (maybe offer discounts to forum members ;)

This will turn Ceriatone into Two Rock, Dr. Z, Van Weelden, etc.  Does anyone agree with me?  We are all tone kings here but sweet looks aint a bad addition.  Let me know your thoughts because I would pay this guy for his head cabs and he should work for/with Nik to make this a standardization.  Here is the old thread

Kind words Indy thanks.

I'm not a cab maker, in fact I am a stained  glass maker by trade, thats how I was able to do the logo, its a very special handmade glass, called flashed glass, with a thin layer of intense colour on a pale base glass. We use a vinyl mask and HF acid to dissolve the thin layer away.

I currently have that same amp in a combo, made in the same style with a red on pale blue logo. Lighting it is a bit of a lash up with high power led's angled from various places to get around the problem of the trannies being in the way.

That's great hywelg, well done!
It's a nice font... I feel it may be a bit small for guitarists to read from the audience,
but the glowing oval would be quite recognisable once people knew what it was
I think that design, in a large 'Marshall style' plastic logo would look good on the heads,
I just think that for Nik's amps to get really famous the logo has to be big
The inset oval is great, but a lot of Nik's models would have nowhere to put it
You could have an anodised oval plate with the red on the grille, but you wouldn't
want the oval too big, it would clash with the geometry
Looks great on the Marshall style though
