increased headroom, and a more balanced sound really. (compared to the GT mullard RI EL-34's which I have in there now) They didn't sound best with this amp, but they held up fine. I had some GE ones (Mullard? Says made in UK). Great tone, much better compared to the Winged C EL34s I had back then. Wanted to get some more but seeing the price, ouch...!
