Hi yet again,

I built my fx-loop interupt mod and it finally worked fine (see other mail). I packed the amp back into it's case and switched it on - the main switch went on, the tubes glowed nicely but when I went to standby there was nothing - deadly quiet.

I removed the amp and checked my mod again - everything in place. Then I noticed that the left most of the 2 arms on the top plate of the fat transformer on the left side were slightly in the air as if they had lifted from the rest of the block (see pic) - I no longer know if this is normal or whether I have knocked them by accident. The left side is definetly 2mm higher than the other.

Q. Is this irrelevant? If yes then I have obviously loosened something else.
Q. If not, then may I tape down the two arms of the plate with let's say Gaffa Band? Is there a lot of heat there?

i do not know much but, i dont think there is a problem with the power transformer plate.
i would not even put tape on them, but you may ask nik or someone else for this.

for the yellowish transformer it is the choke. tightening its screw should not make any change to the amp except thant that the choke will be more tightened to the chassis.

do remember to take really care of high voltage into these amp.

i do not think this could be a problem,
even without tape on the other side, i would also not set tape on an amp, dosent make really..
if i would try anything it would be to glue it back on, after have asked a few question around for know if this is allright. I guess from factory they are glued there.

What i would do is just keep it like this with no tape
and if it cause a problem to the amp, or if it get tooo much stuck up in the air and/or look like crap too much or become a problem by any way, then i would contact nik and see what can be done.
