Title: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: bigwebb83 on August 19, 2011, 07:52:20 PM Well I guess this is a little late in the game since I already pulled the trigger on one of these, but how does it stack up against the klein and the c-lator? I picked it because I was able to find a used one and it includes reverb.

Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: burst59 on August 20, 2011, 10:17:42 AM I owned 2 of them and both of them died on me, I would avoid them and look to the Kleinulator or Quinn Amps version
Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: fltundra on August 20, 2011, 02:12:34 PM both of them died on me Can you please elaborate? I was getting ready to purchase one for my son's HRM. Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: burst59 on August 20, 2011, 06:21:23 PM The first one I bought did nothing but make a weird swooshing noise. You couldn't hear the reverb at all.
So I sent it back to the seller for a refund. I bought another one, it seamed to work for about 5 or 10 minutes and then nothing very faint reverb in the back ground. This one was more difficult to return and it got ugly with Fuch's. Anyway I'm in the market for one now myself because I just bought a OTS and I'm not even considering the Fuch's product. They were really rude and horrible to deal with. I'm going for the Kleinulator or C ulator. Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: plasticvonaband on August 20, 2011, 09:43:33 PM To be honest, I read mixed reviews, but it seems on the Internet you hear more bad than good these days. Fuchs makes good stuff, but even so, I'm sure one or two fall through the cracks. That being said, I think that the c-lator, being tube driven, adds a little something extra to the OTS, and are worth it whether or not you plan on adding effects to the loop. Plus, you can use it as a globs master, which is nice because you can get the master(s) off the bright caps. I have found that a c-lator and a holy grail sound pretty darn good on my BM. Only draw back is that it is a serial buffer vs a parallel buffer, so if you set your effects too wet it can effect the whole signal, but there are mods to make the c-lator parallel, or you can add a parallel loops on top of the c-lator if you are so inclined.
Hope this helps! Gregg Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: Pickmaster on August 21, 2011, 06:29:58 PM I suggest to by it direct from Andy Fuchs.
I’ve got one and it is just great loop device. Good luck. Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: buddyrama on August 22, 2011, 12:16:37 AM I have a Kleinulator that I got first which I think is a good piece of equipment, sounds fine. Then I got the Fuchs Reverberator and I prefer it. Compact, simple and I think it sounds kinda punchy. My impression thus far is one of high quality, I would buy more of his stuff. Hope this helps.

I like it a lot, great sounding reverb and no issues when driven hard at gigs. Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: fltundra on August 22, 2011, 03:15:26 PM Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'm going order one direct from Fuchs.
Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: bigwebb83 on August 26, 2011, 11:37:15 AM man the fuchs verbrator is awesome! The reverb is the best I've played. That includes the spring reverb on my DRRI and TRRI. Glad I picked this up.
Title: Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? Post by: burst59 on August 28, 2011, 02:04:05 AM I ended up with a Glaswerks Match Box Stereo, it also has 2 12Ax7's. I didn't really want a rack device but this thing is really built well
and I like the added benefit of the stereo out. I was lucky to find a used one so I didn't have to wait 4 weeks. Glaswerks also has a killer Reverb version as well but it's pretty expensive and there is the 4 week waiting time. I will definitely pickup his reverb unit down the line but at least I can use the loop while I'm waiting. One thing I did notice about the Fuchs for the 15 minutes that it actually functioned is that just having it in the loop really added a richness to the tone, and this was in Bogner Shiva. I was pretty bummed when it stopped working because the Shiva never sounded as good as it did when the Verbrator was in the loop. I'm going to try the Glaswerks in my Goldfinger while I'm waiting for my OTS to arrive on Monday. |
