Hi all, this is my first post here but have been lurking for quite a while and checking in on almost a daily basis.

I picked up a standard OTS about a month ago and the combo cab I ordered should show up in a week or two. I'm going to put in a EV 12L in it that I have sitting here unused, I also have a C-Lator kit here that I hope to build within the next day or two. My main amp for the last several years has been an Allen Accomplice with a Zendrive II and I love the sound this combo makes so hopefully the OTS will be even better. Right now I've got the OTS running into a sealed Mesa cab with two Vintage 30's and although it sounds ok I think I'll like the EV in an open back better.

My main reason for posting is to get a few opinions on what effect rack I should go with. I've narrowed it down to either a TC Electronic m350 or a G Major II. The M350 looks like it would be a lot easier to use in a live situation but the G Major has a lot more going for it. I guess I'm leaning more toward the G Major mostly because it's a lot more versatile but I would like to stay away from a midi pedal if I can.

The G major II is a versatile unit for D-amps. If you use a c-lator and one of those Suhr Mini-Mix II's you should have steller results. When using the Mini-Mix you'll get the ability to run your effects in parallel and still get the C-lators "natural effect" (in series operation) IMO go with the G-major. I use an M300 and its a great unit.

I have a G Major 1 in my loop I bought used with a Rocktron Midimate, sounds awesome.

They are easy to setup so you can have amp channel switching when you change presets on the G Major using the 2 relays that the G Major has.
All you need for channel switching is a cable with a 5 pin DIM (midi) at one end and Ring Tip & Sleeve jack the other end 

I haven't bought a Suhr Minimix for it yet thats still one my shopping list, I'm a bit broke at the momment because I just bought a R9 VOS Les Paul last week  Grin

I'd like to chime in here.

The G-Major sounds great and has excellent possibilities. However I do have some reliability issues with it.

I've had a Gmajor 1 for 5 or 6 years (bought second hand) and after some years of running without a problem it started to show some weakness on the dual rotating controls up to a point where is was impossible to scroll through the menus. Beside that it started to freeze on me, needing a reboot. I tried to open it and secure the connections but it didn't help and I damaged some very fragile plastic clips in the process. That unit is now good for trash.

I replaced it with a G-major 2 (also 2nd hand) thinking that they should have fixed the problems by now. They had done so by replacing the dual rotating controls by single ones. Rotating speaker effect was a great addition too. And the PC software works well.

Unfortunately that one started to freeze too after only 6 month, quite rarely at first but lately some 3 times in a row, needing some not so gentle taps to resuscitate. Totally unreliable.

I might be the unlucky bastard of the lot but I'm done with TC stuff, got a 2nd hand Rocktron Xpression and hope not to have to look back.

The Xpression is an old technology, with far less parameters, a lousy pitch shifter, a very simple display and no PC software but it sounds as good as the G-major, feels much sturdier and hopefully, because of the old tech, will be more reliable on the long term (and short too).
One other advantage of the Xpression on the TC is that controller assignments are patch dependent and not global so CC82 can be assigned to chorus on/off in a patch and leslie speed on another.

It's only my own experience and hopefully many other are happy with their unit, but I had to mention it.

I run a G-Major through my FM50/C-Lator and it sounds awesome to me. Thought about getting a Minimix, but it just seemed like too much money and complexity for not enough tonal improvement. Anyway, I got my G-Major off eBay for $200 shipped (the same price as the m350 new no shipping) AND the G-Major has the exact tonal specifications (sample rate, AD\DA conversion, etc...) as the G-Major II, so sound-wise, the G-Major and G-Major II will sound almost identical - hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the II had a lot of exact same sounds ported over from the I.

I should add that I really don't play live and I'm kind of a set it and forget it kinda guy with my effects.

Just my $0.02.
