Tried the OT yesterday for the first time and all worked fine.

Today I was starting to fiddle around with the Kleinulator and put some effects into the loop both with and without the Klein. The results were not really promising..but thats not the point here and I will keep trying anyway.

The point is that I perceive that the amp has lost volume after my efforts with the Klein. I did put everything back to normal - just plugging straight into the amp with a Godin LG with P90 pickups, and I may crank up both Master Volume and Volume to about 5. I get considerably loud with these settings but it is not unbearable (I am living in an rented apartment that is). Yesterday (before the Klein adventures) I  remember that setting both Master and Volume to about 1-2 did already yield quite some "bedroom" volume.

Plugging now straight into the power section via the loop input gives some tone but the Master volume is ineffective then (the volume is anyway, but this should be normal I think). This makes me suspicious since the Master belongs to the Power Section. Can it be that one power tube has given up its function or is this even something worse...or am I dreaming and volume 5 and 5 (Master) is a bit louder then bedroom but not really extremely more.

Is it possible that I have messed up something in the circuit ? (I remember that I once did mistak send and return today, putting the effects output into the send). But apart from the presumed lost volume the amp seems to work fully (maybe the presence works a bit too subtle ..?).

All this is without overdrive and boost engaged - just in the clear channel. And the amp is brandnew but I just read that tubes are prone to give up their live during the first 24 hours of operation. And yes - I have checked the cable from guitar to the amp, and the volume on the Godin is fully open. I forgot to mention that the amp is connected to a MESA Thiele Box with a C90 (similar to a Celestion G12-80 Classic Lead - 8Ohm). And it is: Jazz ON, Deep OFF, Bright OFF.

However...has anybody some idea ? HEEEEELP.... here's some newbie - somewhat confused. Maybe this is just normal and my perception does play tricks on me (but no - I did NOT take intoxicants of any kind). Maybe someone has a reference (with a C90 (think sensitivity), approximate level of dB 1 meter from the box ...or so) with a setting say Master 3 and Volume 3 and with P90s or at least a vivid description (say...with Master 3 and Volume 3 you blow the neighbors away or so). And of course: What the heck could that be - in case this is really some malfunction ?

Thanks for your kind consideration
Mîke

1) The master is not part of the Poweramp section. it feeds the preamp out portion of the loop. So it will not effect the volume of just the poweramp.

2) You will have a significant volume drop with all the preamp switches off. It is quite less volume w/ the bright off, Deep off, and in the jazz position. This is a normal reaction.

So there is nothing wrong with your amp, at least I can tell by what you posted. Just mess around with it.  find what works for you.

BTW 50 or 100watt?

Thanks GREG777

It's a 50 Watt Version.

I will continue to find the optimum settings for me. Thanks for the encouragement.
