Title: Strange overdrive with vvr
Post by: deltacomet on February 09, 2012, 03:04:05 AM
I installed a vvr in my ots. All work , good sound in clean. But when in put overdrive on, Isn't the same sound before vvr. I put level and ratio to 10 and my clean channel is louder than overdrive.

How can i have the overdrive back again ?

Put vvr only in my power tube and install ppimv ?

May, i have did something wrong ?

Thanks
Gui

Based on my very limited reading on this I think you'd want it on the power section instead of V1 on these amps.

+1 on that. The voltages on the preamp section are very important on these D Style amps. I did alot of experimenting with voltages via my sag simulator and found that lowering the voltages on V1 and V2 had a dramatic effect on tone and gain, not just OD but overall gain

Thanks for information.  All I have to do is put the vvr on the power section and make a ppimv ? or the ots already have ppimv ?
