Title: Small question Post by: gmule12 on November 29, 2009, 05:52:40 PM With from among OTS it is closest to Gregor Hilden tone of his dumble amp ???I listened to demo on you tube and it according to my opinion,Closest to that tone is HRM ,But maybe I am wrong.
Title: Re: Small question Post by: JD0x0 on November 29, 2009, 05:54:10 PM gregor actually has an OTS S&M model i believe. He sold his dumble and bought a Fuchs, Ceriatone and a bludo tone.
Title: Re: Small question Post by: JD0x0 on November 29, 2009, 06:30:35 PM S&M's are nice but the normal OTS in my opinion is better. The S&M is brighter and more agressive on the OD channel and therefore isnt as good for switching on the fly. (you would need to adjust EQ) the OTS is more balanced between the two channels IMO and sounds warmer and smoother
Title: Re: Small question Post by: gmule12 on November 29, 2009, 06:34:46 PM You mean non HRM OTS
Title: Re: Small question Post by: gmule12 on November 29, 2009, 07:35:53 PM Some other opinions ???
Title: Re: Small question Post by: ODME on November 29, 2009, 09:04:55 PM Some other opinions ??? The circuit layout of the regular OTS and HRM are pretty much the same, with the exception of a gew different part values. So you can easily mod an HRM to be like the OTS. IMHO the internal HRM tone stack at the end of the OD stage is nothing you would miss if you didn't have it. Knowing this, and that I'd preferred the standard OTS sound, I got an HRM - but only because one was immediately available on ebay and it had several options added. If you do not intend to build it or mess around inside, then go with the OTS. |
