Title: Presence=more attack?
Post by: Steven_nl on January 06, 2010, 02:03:57 PM
Hi guys
In an earlier topic I discussed how adding more Presence (8) gives a brighter sound which I like (or my OTS with d-lator) needs. It seems presence adds some top end which doesn't add treble to the guitar sound, but it takes away the "blanket".
I  was wondeing iof adding more Presence also adds more attack/punch? It seems so, but this can also be the result of a change in tone colour.

The thing is is I like the brighter sound (less dark and more transparant), but I would prefer less attack.

I'm not to keen on using the bright switch. It also adds more brightness, but I feel it makes the lowe end thinner.
what do you think?

You need a 15p-40p bright cap on you master volume. Scott Lerner (Dogears) have made many opsts regarding this on ampgarage.

Erwin tried that with my amp. I felt it had a different tonal impact then adding more presence.
Maybe I sould try the push pull thing you suggested.
