Well, that's one way to get a cab for your overtone.  Im sure you could make it a bit prettier if you wanted to, but that doesn't make it sound any better.  I've almost got my head cab done, need to get some hardware, though.  I just used some red tolex and grill cloth that I had left over from an old Fender 75 that I recovered.  At least you are not on here like I was begging for cabinet plans. . . .

That was my original plan. Then I went with another plan for 1*12 combo and that didn't work out. I think in the end the 1*12 combo may win the match after a few minor adjusts, but the 212 cabinet for zero dollars does sound very very nice and has the advantage of 2 speaks. I don't care so much how it looks. Probably keep it from getting stolen. I did some inquiry here about cabinets, and for the most part people were helpful. If you have a few hundred bucks I would just buy cabinets. If you like makind something from nothing, do what I did, it sounds great and cost nothing. I do have a bit of the rear panel switches sticking out the back, which could prove disastrous in a moving things/gigging situation. I like the twin, I have the potential option for a 112 combo and just need to do some measuring and tweaks with the producer. That would get me a "pretty" amp. But I am not sure that I want to be limited to a single speaker and why should I pay more to replace something I already did that works great?

Dunno. I will do some measurements and see. I wanted a 112 combo since I hate breaking my ass hauling an amp around. Decisions. I will probably end up with both and be constantly moving the amp between them.

Building cabs is not the easy job.

Although extensively modified, this started life as an Overtone kit.

Only HAD knows Wink

Actually, the large capacitors are only held to the board with the glue. The smaller capacitors are all supported on the glue, my guess is that it keeps strain off the component leads. I believe HAD used silicone glue, because it is removable, if needed. The amp that mine was replicated from was de-gooped at least once by HAD to change over to Skyliner, and then probably re-gooped. There are about 3 different colors of glue on that amp.

As to why only the preamp is totally covered in glue (and not the PI, or other boards) I don't know, but there is glue under every capacitor on every board.

I got my chassis at a swap meet, but I am sure it is originally from here: http://vasinguitaramp.tripod.com/id4.html

I modded the original Ceriatone Head Cab by adding the corner protecters, changing the handle, adding Fender-style grill cloth and changing the aluminum strips.

The only pic I have at the moment is this will all my other gear. The cab is an Aussie made Achillies 212 with a V30 and Greenback in it. Love the sound but might try some other speaker combinations down the track! I use a T.C. Electronics Nova system, MI Audio Tubezone and Mark Tremonti Wah plugged straight into the amp and it sounds great!

I'll go first then.

That's really quite beautiful, hywelg.
did you make the cabs yourself or did you buy them somewhere?
Also is the speaker cab 1x12 or 2x12.
Thanks!

Thank you for your kind comments. I did indeed make the cabs myself. The speaker cab belongs to a Fender Twin that I split into a head and speaker cab, though it sits very low to the floor and  I'd prefer something taller so I've got a vertical 2x12 being made at the moment which will replace that one soon. That will have a EVM-12L and a Vintage30 in it. I would also like another OTS to put in a combo but I really will have to sell some of my other amps first!
