Title: Pedals Positions without FX LOOP??
Post by: Xavi_Spain on June 22, 2010, 12:29:00 PM
Hi everybody!

I'd like any kind of help with my question (sorry about my english):

Next month I'm gonna buy an FX LOOP for my S&M (Probably the Fuchs Verbrator).
But until I get it, I have to play several shows without any FX Loop.

This are my pedals in order from guitar to amp:

Tuner---RMC wah---TubeScreamer808---TubeScreamer808---TREX ChorusFlanger---FAT BOOST---Supatrem---DD3 Delay---Line6 MM4(Leslies,chorus, etc)---

I know that this are too many pedals for playing without an FX LOOP, but I want your help to take the best sounding possible.
Wich ones in front of the amp??
Wich ones on the send/return of the s&m??
Wich would be the best position for for my fulltone booster in all these trouble??

Thank you so much, guys. Have a nice summer!!

Xavi, from Spain.

Hi, here's my take:

Tuner, wah, TS808s, and Fat Boost in front of the amp.

Flange, trem, delay, and mm4 in the loop (Verberator).

FWIW, I use a Fuchs Tube-FX-Loop (the Verberator w/o the 'verb) in parallel mode.  I think you'll like it, I do!

Good luck.

Thank you bobgoblin!!
Yeah, Fuchs I'm sure that are great FX LOOPS.

I will try this pedals setting...

More opinions??

Xavi.

+1 Bob.

For my tone, I keep cable to a minimum in my FX to reduce tone loss (more cable, more tone loss IMO), so pedals sit on top of amp and always left on: Reverb and Delay through Kleinulator in FX.

In front of amp: tuner, clean boost, od, od, Univibe, delay (bare minimum settings, but always on) and loop pedal.  I use clean channel on amp only, but love to plug straight into amp with no pedals up front and use amp OD channel at times with just FX effects.

You need to experiment - it takes a little time before you go BAM...that's my tone!!!!

Good Luck!!
