hey guys....i'm new to the forum and I am looking real hard at taking the plunge and becoming a ceriatone owner.

I am a huge robben ford fan and as I have looked at youtube clips and other audio samples it appears most folks achieve "their robben tone" via an overtone standard special?Huh?

I am also curious about the overtone special FM as well...i think I have figured out the that FM stands for "ford mustang"......can anybody tell me the primary differences between an "overtone special 50" and an "overtone special FM 50"?

thanks in advance for your help.

you could take a look at the 183 model as well. I think it's based on Robben's tan Dumble amp.

here's the real Dumble 183 and a Quinn clone

Interestingly Nik drives a Ford Mustang ;-)

#183 isn't Robbens Tan Dumble it is simply an ODS that was bought by a person for $50,000 who then had it cloned by Quinn amps.

OTS50 is a good tweaked 50W Overdrive Special.

The FM50 is a 50W version of the Bludotone Ojai. That amp is as as close to Robben Fords tan Dumble you will ever get.

+1 the Ojai is basicly a copy of Larry's amp. Brandon at Bludo has serviced Larry's dumble a few times but now Larry uses a Bludotone

False, The Bludo OJAI refers to Robben Fords amp.

Robben Ford lives in OJAI, a city in southern california.

The Ford Mustang is a clone of the Bludotone Ojai. The Bludotone Ojai is a copy of Robben Fords tan 100w non-HRM Dumble ODS.

Larry Carltons tan Dumble is a 100w HRM Ripper (like the bluesmaster). Just to clarify
