Hey Guys,

Im going to be building an OTS soon and was wonder what are the best mods for playing a Strat through it. I have seen a few posts with strat mods but i have no clue what they do. If anybody has any good mods that will really bring out a strat, please post them here, also please explain what they do so i can decide what i might want to try. Oh, im already planning to add 2, 50uf 350v capacitors to the main filter stage to improve clean headroom as a saw on another post but other than that, im unsure.

Personally I swap between Strats & Les Pauls all the time- the OTS copes well with either- maybe a little more gain on the pre-amp with a Strat &  a little less bass with a LP that's about it... I tend to use the guitars volume & tone controls much more these days to shade my tones- I use the 'Eric Johnson' tone pot wiring on the Strat's lead pup to roll off a little high end; and much the same with the LP at times - essentially set the amp up for a good balance between clean and lead tones, then use the guitars controls to personal taste is my advice.

The most omportant mod you can make to facilitate both lespauls and strats is a switch, that swhtches between a 10n and 47 n 'mid' capacitor. Simple but effectfull!
