Title: OVERTONE HRM LO INPUT 2 AMPS
Post by: jubeman on May 03, 2010, 12:11:16 PM
Hi can I use my low input to daisychain to another amps input so I can have 2 amps at once or will my signal be weaker from my guitar  to both amps . ?

im not sure. but i think an easier way would to just use a stereo out pedal that you have. Or if you dont have one you now have an excuse to get a new pedal ;)

Sure you can... that low/hi configuration is same thing as Fender amps have

could you tell me how that works? sounds really nice. I'm looking for the cheapest solution to run 2 amps at once, maybe this could be it.
My amps are a 50W OTS S&M and a Fender Twin SF 135W

Will this work like this?:

Guitar in FET (OTS)
chord from NOR to HI (Twin)

or do I have to use the Lo inputs?

You will get hum if the amps share the same ground. I read a Guitar player magazine w/ Joe Bonamassa that he stated that he designated 1 main amp ( out of his 4 ! ;D)to have ground and   lifted the ground on any additional.

You must be cautious while doing this although, it is dangerous if you're lacking knowledge on this . You will create a ground loop if ground is shared

 I am quoting others although.

I run a multi amp setup with a 64' Fender Bandmaster (ground lifted)  Dry w/ a Fuzz on a switching system & my 100w Bluesmaster (Wet) , both w/ my main pedal board.

I still encounter slight hum although and have been trying to come up w/ a solution to fix also.

Or you can invest in an amp switcher like from Lehle, Framptone, or Radial.  they are all high quality and are designed to eliminate any ground loop issues.

No with FET this will not work...
You need to go into the Twin first (HI), then a cord from Twin LO to OTS NOR.

thanks for your replies guys I have had my eye on some ampswitchers lehle etc but £200 for a switcher it has to do the job I require my problem is that when I use 2 amps the volume is set on combination of 2 amps but when I go to 1 amp ie hrm the volume is too quiet and I dont think even an amp switcher could solve this just have to buy another amp  ;D

Just for the record...

I'm using this box
http://cgi.ebay.com/TRUE-BYPASS-WOBO-ABY-Switch-split-guitar-amps-tuner-/310217722653?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item483a6acb1d (http://cgi.ebay.com/TRUE-BYPASS-WOBO-ABY-Switch-split-guitar-amps-tuner-/310217722653?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item483a6acb1d)

a lot cheaper than lehle and works perfectly

also was looking at this

Well I think WOBO is better... the switching is done by relays which is better... but you need DC power for that.

...but BigShot will do the job as well.

The Lehle switchers are great.  They are isolated and have a very custom transformer for sonic quality.  In addition the SOG versions have settings to adjust the input levels when both amps are selected at the same time, so you can set it up so the overall volume doesn't jump dramatically when you have both running at the same time.

well that sounds like what i need

so the LEHLE allows you to adjust the combined A+B volume to a lowerlevel

so that it is close to the level of say A amp on its own ?
