Just wondering, now that you've gotten the SSS off the ground, any plans to offer an OTS with the reverb built in?

Personally I'll be in the market for a new amp in a couple of months and since I've now finally gotten my definitive Strat ordered I'm looking for the amp to go with it.

My first thought would be a SSS, but then I think I would still like the OD channel there even if I'd be using pedals most of the time...so then I'm back to thinking 100W HRM Bluesmaster...

I am however a but for reverb and would prefer a built-in spring reverb system over a digital reverb system in an effects loop...

Alternatively, how about a stand alone spring reverb unit designed to sit in the loop of an OTS...basically a C-ulator and spring reverb unit combined...??

I'm always surprised at the demand for internal reverb.

While I love reverb for an effect like in surf guitar (where the reverb unit is typically is placed before the amp) or just for some trippy psychedelia.  Additionally, it's become intertwined with a few eras of music...'60's Chicago blues for example were really wet with reverb, as are many of the artists it influenced...and, of course, Neil Young.

But in a professional situation, it's almost entirely unused. Live, it gets too wet too fast with any amount of natural room reverb, and in the studio it's never added until mixdown.  It is the reason that most Dumbles, Voxes (sp??), Matchless, Marshall, Trainwreck, etc. were mostly 'verb-less.

It is nice to have a little dimension to bring life into a dead room, especially when practicing at home. I admit very few of my heroes are Dumble, most of them...including Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, George Harrison Lowell George (Dumble user!), etc...have never used reverb.  Instead they use a little delay, which is much easier to keep dial down to keep it from getting "wet" sounding and can be used in front of any amp, introducing hi-gain. 

I'm neither condemning anyone for liking reverb, nor am I going to call it a crutch, it just a curiosity how such a divide grew between what is predominantly professional equipment and what is predominantly consumer equipment.

Just wanted to get the facts straight....Lowell George owned a Dumble Overdrive Reverb, and used the Reverb all the time......

I have a Quinn SDO-Reverb (based on a Dumble Overdrive Reverb w/ a built in D-lator) and gig live with it all the time and always use the reverb, even in bigger venues..

It would be great for Nik to come out with an OTS w/ Reverb (ala Dumble ODR).

In all actuality you could buy a Ceriatone SSS and send it to John Myrnck and he could take out the Filter Section, add Overdrive, and use the Post OD Reverb circuit.....

The Ceriatone SSS is an Overdrive Special clean side with Verb and Filters after all so it would work great.

I agree. I pretty much always have a lil touch of reverb on, it's part of my sound. Between that and the Space Echo i get what i need as far as ambience, but the reverb is more important for my sound

That is the only thing I really miss from my Fender amps.  I love reverb and just got a VanAmps Sole Mate spring unit.  Relatively small BUT, I plugged it into the C-Lator and it does nothing!  Very confusing.  I have it hooked up properly and even tried switching out and ins.  hmmmm I have no clue what is going on.  I need to plug it in the front and see if it works.  When I get this thing working, I might mount it in the head cab to keep it all tucked away.  OTS with built in tank would be SWEET!

Not 100% positive but I believe I remember reading on van amps site that it doesn't work well in the loop, and that they designed it for going in front of the amp, just like the old fender standalone reverb units.

For anyone interested: reverb (you pick the version) can be installed on any of these amps. As a custom builder/manufacturer I build it into amps on request and have done some Ceriatone builds with it as well. The design engineer in me welcomes challenges so I tell my customers "If you can think it, I can build it!" The Ceriatone platform offers a very economical way to get the amp of your dreams with no comprimise. You can go from stock to tricked out by someone like me and have a pro quality peice of gear. Especially since the chassis are steel now, just got my first powder coated one. Mighty pretty!
