I don't find my clean channel to be anything special, I seem to use OD channel and just roll off volume on guitar to clean up.  Do any of you use clean channel much, etc, as I would like to use OD pedals in front sometimes and I haven't had much sucess with OD pedals in front of OD channel??  Any suggestions on how you use, etc??

THANK YOU!!!

I use the Clean Channel almost all the time. I use a modded TS-808 as overdrive, and when it is time for self indulgent soloing I switch to the Overdrive Channel so there is en extra boost to the gain.

Thanks for he feedback!! Funny, I have many of the best OD's:  Dumkudo, SOV2, Fulldrive, etc, etc and alomost feel like I want to sell them now that I have this OTS i bought used - the OD channel is those pedals minus any small coloration of tone.

So if I hear you, you use clean channel with OD pedal up front and roll back guitar volume to clean up as required then go to lead channel with OD pedal ON for solo's - please confirm - thanks!!!

what is etho's?

a very expensive (with long waiting list) pedal. Basicly its an analog, solid state dumble preamp, with clean ch, OD ch, and the tone stack switches. DO a google search

Not completely. When I need overdrive I step on the TS-808, otherwise it is just the clean channel. I use EMG pickups and have to roll back the volume knob a little (from 10 to 8 or 7) to get a clean sound, otherwise it will be slightly distorted like those real old blues records where you hear an amp that is just slightly pushed. When it is time to solo I simply go to the Overdrive channel. In the extremely rare event that I need to do a clean solo I have a little boost on my Nova System that I use to just make it a little louder.

So in short:

clean passages - Clean channel, no OD
overdrive passages - Clean channel, TS-808
overdriven solo - OD channel,  TS-808
clean solo - Clean channel, Boost from Nova System.
