Hi Guys
Last week my OTS was modded a bit (1/2 power switch and OD trimmer on back pannel).
It has left me a bit confused.
If you turn the trimmer al the way down does that kill the sound alltogether?
if you turn the trimmer up you get more distortion right?

Well I'm not sure but if you turn the trimmer all the way down it should not kill your sound...

down - smoother
up - aggressive

I didn't play with my trimmer yet, I like it as is.

I changed a few things (power tubes to Winged C). This amp is had to set up. also my Klein was broken. It's now repaired and I'm strugling to get my sounds together. My tele always sounds good though.

My OTS always impresses me more with single coils and clean than with humbuckers.

I'm the other way around.  My humbuckers are positively killing and my SCs not spectacular.  I'm beginning to suspect my current SC pickups and will be pulling them shortly.

Following the current change on the thread.  Buckers do well (to my ears) with the preamp volume around 4 to 5.  Singles do better with it around 6-7.  That's clean and dirty. I find the goods for both that way.

OD trimmer al the way down DOES kill the sound.

To me, my strat sounds very nice with the Volume on 7.
But most of the time I play my Gretsch guitars and they just sound ok when compared playing them through my '67 bandmaster. (that sounds GREAT)
Mind you, I play Swing, rockabilly and rock (max distortion think early ACDC)  most of the time.

I'm thinking on modding my OTS to a blackface super (reverb) amp but without the reverb.  ;D
But how would the drive channel sound like?

I've got Fralin Vintage Hot in my strat and they are very good. My LP Custom with stock pups is disappointing, my Ibanez 335 is much better with Fralin PAF's, but I still prefer the strat with sc's, especailly the clean channel.

I'd be very interested in how you get on doing that. Going for AB763? I think the Super runs with higher voltages than the OTS doesn't it?

Yeah I was thinking about the AB763. Anyway more or less my bandmaster circuit first channel but with mid control.
(more or less Super reverb without reverb, tremolo and tube rectifier). I noticed that voltage is higher on the super reverb.
Just thinking how close It can get. After all D-amps started from F amps right . ;D
At this moment I'm still dreaming, i'm not even sure it can be done.

My Tele with Kinmanns sounds awesome. My (mex) Strat with Texas specials not super. My Hamer with Seymore Duncan '59 bit of a mixed bag. It can get fairly close to Robben I feel. The biggest challenge is changing from one guitar to the other without to much tweaking.
