Title: Multi-effects with OTS - Any recommendations? Post by: buzzer on January 11, 2009, 10:43:06 PM Hi - I'm getting an OTS soon. All my multi-effects are pretty old, and mostly for studio use. I don't have any good stomp boxes worth mentioning.
Now, I don't like a lot of heavy effects. I'm going to stick with a little compression, short delay, some chorus. A couple things I play I use tremolo, volume pedal, and reverb on. So I'd rather not have a separate stomp box for each function. What's out there on today's market that's good, and would enhance, not detract from, the OTS? I would prefer it didn't have an amp modeler or preamp in it, unless it is 100% defeatable. Thanks for your suggestions - Buzzer Title: Re: Multi-effects with OTS - Any recommendations? Downsides - Kind of hard to programm - It suffers from occaisonal static pops. - Only one type of reverb. There are no seperate plate, hall, room and spring reverbs. With some tweaking you can get close to those efefcts but it needs some work. - same with most of the other effects. you have to set them up - no pc tweaking. Positive sides - It has an internal mixer. Yoy can switch the unit to parrallel. The dry tone doesn't go through an A/D converter. only the effects are converted and are mixed with the original signal. That way your nice OTS will remain the same and you can mix in the reverb/delay etc. - nice effects - it has a pretty good leslie - you don't need to use a seperate fx loop to get the right signal |
